Yup, thats probably a good way to start with the language lessons. It will probably go past that fairly soon though, judging from what I've seen of their language so far. Speaking of combat training, that may be a good thing for you to work with Karrg on too.
Ahz contemplates whether or not to tell Fubar that Karrg may well be smarter than he is, but decides against it. After comparing the size of Fubar's biceps to his own matchstick arms, he decides that yes, discretion and valor and all that.
Actually, how much do I know about yeti? I am assuming I have a bit of a guess about their intelligence from what I have seen of their language and how that fits in with my linguistic skill. But beyond that...how much do I know about yeti?

Gather round!
After I finish my doctoring tasks, I'm going to use zero level spells light and detect magic and check the gear of the twice dead.
Most of the dead body belongings have been destroyed in the two previous fights. You can still find some usable metal weapons: 1 light mace, 2 longwords, 2 battleaxes, two rings that looks magical and 92 GP.
Also, I am going to attempt to get Karrg's attention and motion him to come to me. If that all works, when he gets to me I am going to cast comprehend languages to help the exchange, and try to talk to him some.I am going to talk to him about the oath we have with his father, explain my understanding and check that he knows about it and how he understands it.
I am also going to explain to him my views on this combat just ended - that these were unnatural enemies who needed to be killed. And that their gear will help us continue to survive and make the world a better place.
And, I talk to him about such things as being as close as is comfortable for him to the camp, and about our upcoming language lessons. I am also going to work on learnign his language (for which I will put a point into linguistics when we level, assuming it is ok with the DM at the time).
The way I see the communication with Kaarg, as long as you want to explain simple actions or things, a linguistics check DC15 will work.
Once you get to the next level, Karg will have learnt the bases of common if you take time to teach. That should give him a point in linguistics(common). You spot Kaarg looking down at the fight but he does not seem to want to go down the ravine you're in. The ideas you want to convey too him are too complex for now. you'll have to start with simple words.

Knowledge nature : 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Well, they're white and live in the snow...
I'll work on talking to him about all of that gradually. I still think I'll dedicate comprehend languages daily to our language lessons for the time being.
Oooh look, stuff. Now we get the joy of working out a system for divvying it up. Any suggestion? Maybe a good thing to talk about now to avoid complications later. I generally vote for whoever needs it most gets it, if more than 1 person needs it the same then random...and other party members get to take roughly the same worth in cash type stuff if they dont get other stuff. If that makes sense.

I've set up an OOC thread in the relevant section.
Knowledge about Yeti is Knowledge(nature), DC 14
Sorry, you mean 1/4th price or it will take a quarter of the time it took to get here to repair it?
"That sounds like a good idea," Caydee agrees with Ahz.

Sorry for the confusion, it will take 1/4 of the lamp cost to have it repaired (basically, you need to replace the glass).

Llae if you want to send me a message on OP with current campaign notes and such I can get ready to take over, unless there is something specific you want to cover first?

Oooh look at the shinies! Now the first one is a nice ring of protection. Considering who I have to heal the most...hmhmhm. The girls both get fairly bloodied. The main difference I see is that KD can sit back with her bow while Var has this seeming deathwish desire to wade into foes. However that works out, I *think* Vardara could use that most.
This second shiny is a ring of feather fall. While this isnt the most important bit of loot, it could come in handy out here on the glaciers. Taking into account basic raw strength and weight of stuff carried, i think I could make best use of that, for the moment.
Those are just my thoughts. There are also some various pieces of gear, which I guess we can lug around until we can sell it or something more compact comes up. Speak up if you can use any of the normal gear.

Caydee Brunland |

Caydee looks over the mundane gear with a critical eye. "No, I think I'm well enough armed with what I've got. And I don't like lugging stuff around."
On an irrelevant note, if anyone likes political carttons and anime they may want to check out Axis Powers Hetalia. The newest episode was particularly funny.

Azhateran Slug |
"Give it tah the ones whos fer needin it!
"Tha ring tha stops yah from fallin should be fer tha one leadin tha way."
Good thinking Fubar! And the crevice-seeker!
With a smile and a wink, Ahz passes the ring of feather fall to Caydee, and the ring of protection to Vardara.

Azhateran Slug |
Well. I can manage a fire. Ahz cant help a strange grin from creeping to his face for a moment, then shakes his head as if clearing a thought.
But, um, at the bottom of an icy crevice might not be the best place for it. The other option being...drag them out of here. Any of you strong types up for it?

Llaelian |

Does my initial knowledge religion check (24 vs DC 11) tell me enough that I know if this secondary death is permanent or if they might come back, again?
I'll take over DMing once we get out of this canyon.
In the state they are, it is unlikely that they will rise again. From what you know, the best way to deal with that in the ice and snow is to remove the head and say proper prayers to the monarch of winter for their souls to be taken by him.

Do I know such proper prayers?

Azhateran Slug |
Barring any other grand ideas or such, off with their heads! if any are still attached, and I will help the paladin types in giving whatever blessing I can think of.
I then turn and walk away and try to find the nearest way out of this crevice.
Is it ok if we explore here later guys? I take that oath fairly seriously, and would prefer to get that taken care of first.

Vardara |

"Do not worry Ahz, if we cut their heads and pray for the monarch, he will keep their souls and bodies safe. I know these prayers, my master taught them to me."
Once the cadavers head are properly cut, Vardara aligns the bodies and heads and lead a small prayer to her god.

From the cavern, a great number of tracks emerge, leading to a ramp in the canyon wall, where something heavy has been dragged. This ramp leads to the surface and you can easily escape the crevice.

Llaelian |

If we are in agreement then, lets get out of here, and try to remember how best to get back here. Though Karrg will probably know.
Ahz moves toward the ramp. If Karrg is not yet with them, he will motion to Karrg to join them when they reach the top of the ramp.
As the group walks up the ramp, you are awaited by a white shape. While Kaarg does not want to join you down the crevice, he is ready to follow you out in the open.
