I have 2 players that want to play children.
One would be 14 and the other would be 12.
What are the stats for playing a child?
Some suggest applying the "young" template from the bestiary.
I'd say -1 str and wis, +1 dex and cha. Maybe small size.
Edit: I wouldn't go for the full young penalties unless they were even younger... say around 6 or 7. Remember a starting adventuring human is around 16.

I would suggest two options.
1) if they are playing human children, use halfling stats.
Why? think about it; they would be the right size, quick (+2 dex), not as strong (-2 Str), and charming (+2 Cha. To adventure at 12 your would have to be fearless, and to survive you would have to be lucky. Kids are always climbing and tumbling around, and would use sling shots for mischief. Those are all halfling abilities. the only minor change would be that instead of being familiar with halfling weapons they could use "commoner weapons" like sickles (a farm tool), nets (they fish), and tridents (i.e.pitchforks for farming. I often wonder in fact if Hobbits were based on idealized children.
2)Just go with normal stats--after all they're PC's so they are not ordinary kids but exceptional kids! In fact if they come from noble families they probably are. Heck, maybe they come from a culture like Sparta--trained as killers from age 8, expected to kill a man at 16. Or they could come from a heck of a gene pool. Conan started his adventures at around 14 or 15 if memory serves right.

Makes me think of this
