Poll: Should Black Bard return to the Paizo boards?

Off-Topic Discussions

9 months ago, I retired from posting on these boards. Now, I ask those who might remember me if I should return. Before, I felt invisible and ignored, and it seemed as if the tone of the boards had shifted from what I had come to expect. With preparing to move into a new house and taking care of a brand new daughter, it simply was nonsensical to waste time posting on a board where my words fell before blind eyes.

Now, as we are finished moving in (for the most part) and our daughter is almost a year old (and sleeping through the night), I ask: should I return? Are my commentaries and insights welcome and wanted?

This is no cry for attention; I should think a 9 month absence indicates I need no such thing (disregarding my annoyance with being previously ignored, of course). I simply have recovered some of my free time, and am now deciding where to allocate it.

So let it rip. Encourage me to return. Flame me for begging for attention. Cajole me into posting my 6'x9' version of the Wreck from Savage Tide (yes, I did finish it, and finally have a digital camera and floorspace capable of displaying and capturing it). Have at it.

~blank look on my face~ Who are you again? ~ducks and grins~ I for one am glad to have you back. Post away and I promise to avoid throwing any rotten fruit at you.

Edit - And yes it IS a cry for attention. A blatant one at that! Stop your whining! ~GRINS~

What about a combo platter? Can I both flame and ignore you?

There... consider yourself Igno-flamed... or flame-nored.

I wasn't here 9 months ago so I can't speak to what happened then. I can say that you certainly wouldn't be the only person that periodically gets ignored on the boards. There is an amount of 'cross-yelling' that goes on here from what I've seen.

Personally, I'd say 'stick around' but what do I know?

I can't find it now (it's possible it got deleted) but I could have sworn there was just a long thread about how much we all missed you. Ok, so not really, but we'd love to have you back in any case. The community benefits from every member, even those that don't get a lot of attention (or don't feel like they do).

~Flames yoda8myhead and stormraven~ Take that, you vile fiends! Die! Burn baby burn! ~RUNS~

~Oh, and also flames The Black Bard as well~ I can't have you feeling like you were being left out, can I?

Things change and things stay the same. I certainly remember you and often appreciated your posts. I'm not going to say that things are like they were a few years ago, but things are different than they were nine months ago. And I expect that things will change yet again.

If you're ok with that, it should be fine. Welcome back.

~flames Moff Rimmer~ Take that you fiend!

Please come back. People have started ignoring MY posts instead. ;-)

Actually, I love Savage Tide, I REALLY want to see what you did with the wreck!

I've been flamed by far better than you. What was that? A mosquito?

~starts to flame Freehold DM, but then realizes that I was ignoring him anyway~ Nevermind.

~points my flamethrower at Moff Rimmer and hits him with a full blast flame burst~

Fiends is right! I'm a Fiendish Dire Raven with Asbestos Feathers, beeyotch. I laugh at your feeble flames! However, that tail swipe is no joke. :)

The Raven chuckles and steps between the bars since Sharoth failed to specify which type of Forcecage was employed...

The Raven (with a sense of irony) flips him 'the bird' with a feathered wing.

you should post if you want to, i get ignored all the time, unless i post something really offensive to someone. maybe you should try that if you need some attention, or post about how you want to start up a game with your neighbor's kids who are 9 and 10 but the stupid courts won't let you get within 500 feet of children. yup that will get you some chitter chatter.

Hmmm. You do realize that the vast majority of us, myself included, are largely ignored on message boards.

I am part of what I call the Great Unwashed. We post, nobody responds and forum thread goes on.

Welcome to the internet...

Here is my soundest advice, take from it what you will. Post if you have something to contribute to the conversation, not if you seeking some validation or approval. If people comment on your posts, postive or negatively, take it in stride. If noone responds, don't sweat it.

If you're needing more interaction try out the Fawlty Tower.

Black Bard?
Is that a new prestige class for Pathfinder?
Or a new class in D&D4 Player's Handbook III?

;)

Welcome back Black Bard. Do you remember me?

I wish I could say that I did, unfortunately, I hardly remember what I had for breakfast these days.

Your location being "P'town" makes me wonder just how forgetful I'm being though...

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.
Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.
Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.
Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've got him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

The Exchange

Well, BB, I guess you should dip your toe and see if things are better now than before. Only you can really decide that. But I remember you from days of yore and it would be nice to have you around again should you so desire it.

OH! OH! OH! OH!

Boy, that takes me back. I must be old.

Well, I was going to say that something was wrong if you remembered me because I think it was around December (maybe November) that I first posted here.

;)

Is there some reason that Portsmouth VA should ring a bell? I also grew up near Portsmouth OH if that would mean something...

~pouts~ Well, I for one know that everyone ignores me because everyone hates me for being Sebastian's Best Friend EVER!!! ~goes off to cry~

~GRINS~

Ah, I see. I have several friends in Portland, Oregon, most of whom refer to it as "P'town". None of them frequent the Paizo boards...that I know of. Hence my curiosity.

Here ya go, bud. We birds have to stick together. The day we get beat by an overheated lizard with an over-active pituitary gland is the day we hand in our black feathers... CAW!

You have to ask?
Get out while you still can, Bard! :PA

I have a better question. Should Kobold Cleaver leave the boards for all eternity? ~grins~

j/k.

~gets a shocked look on my face as I listen to the murmurs of the people around me~ What? No! You can't be thinking that! That is impossible! No! I refuse! You all can't ban me for life from here. ~i then notice the NEW poll titled "Should Sharoth be banned from Paizo"~ No!

Mr Overlord! A question, please.

Is it true that you believe turning into a giant snake never helps?

Not sure what incident got you so unhappy you felt you had to leave but I will say that if you write posts expecting feedback you might be trying to hard. My posts are routinely ignored and I suspect thats true of everyone. Its not always the case for anyone but I'd not take it personally when no one chooses to respond to some posts. If you treat it as more a case of being happy when some one actually reads what you posted you'll probably have a better time of it.

I concur.

I do routinely ignore Jeremy's posts.
