Valanos will be able to close with it, but not attack.
Jequine you are unable to hide again as it landed next to you. in the corner where the pipe is...Jequine is cornered.
Gerant you could always toss your axe...as a last ditch effort...-4 for improvised, 10ft range increment, so -5 for range, at -9 but you could get lucky...(that's why my dwarven axe fighters always carry a pair of hand axes)
Sheridan should you move next turn your larger feet aren't impeded by the sand, it's just not that deep.
Apologies for not getting a map up...spent all weekend helping one of my kids get 3 projects done for Monday.

Gerant will close in on the Manticore as fast as he can, double moving is necessary.
Due to the lack of a map, I can't tell how far I am away from it.
Basically, those who made a movement from the pipe are now making the same movement back to the pipe...no charge due to difficult ground. As I said you could chuck your axe at it...you could even make a single move and close the distance, then chuck your axe...

Jequine takes on a defensive posture, dropping her bow and pulling out her Rapier and dagger.

Sheridan quickly puts the beast out of its misery before planting his sword in the ground, kneeling respectfully, and whispering a Chelaxian funeral prayer. Then he looks back up.
"This wretched creature was so fearful that it chose death at our hands over whatever punishment Keraptis had threatened it with. When I began this quest it was in search of treasure, now I find myself more and more in the mind for justice."

Jequine thanks the handsome Sheridan for rescuing her from the danger posed by the manticore as it landed next to her, ready to attack as it had her cornered. She sits in the sand, pondering their position and looking around the area for further exits or areas of interest.

Valanos will check the manticore's body for sigils or any physical signs of control, or magical detection. If nothing found, he will take the largest tooth of the manticore, and a wing scrap (using his dagger, about 1x1 ft), then tuck them away. If something is found, he will alert the group.

Xaldinaar the Ancient |

As the others catch their breath from the running about in the sand, Valanos carves the body of the beasty a bit. Though he seems to be looking over the carcass as well, as though he's looking for something, then carves it like a roast turkey when he finds nothing.
Oh it's not going to like the missing body parts when it's raised...heh
Continuing on, you find a door opposite the chute, as you open the unlocked and untrapped door...A thin mist fills the hallway. Though it doesn’t obstruct vision, it creates a rather eerie atmosphere as it slithers around your ankles. Thirty feet down the hallway you see another door. Not going to slow this down by waiting for perception checks on this door, Jequine looks over the door quite thoroughly searching for hidden traps.

OK, so you're not waiting on perception checks, but did Jequine find any traps or not?....or if you want Perception to find traps 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26....
If there are no traps found, she asks if the others want her to continue on using the mist to provide some cover, or do they want to continue on in front?

"This mist bodes ill, let the big boys handle what's to come!"
Miffed for missing on the action last time, Gerant steps forward to open the door.
If the door is untrapped/unlocked, then let's be on our way.

I assumed a take 10 on the door, which makes 23 minimum, I just wanted to keep the action moving, that last scene was really slow.

Appearing out from the shadows, Jequine smiles at the man and asks, "And so unlucky at cards, unlucky in escape." she lets go a little laugh as she teases the man, playfully. "So what can we do to restore you to your rightful position? and be indebted to us. What would you pay for your freedom? Do you know the ransom? it had best not be a treacherous ransom? So speak up, tell us more about yourself, you interest me!" As she uses her charms to know more of the man and his condition.

Sheridan points out the box "Well, that box certainly seems important, magically speaking, at least."
What type of magic?
it's actually radiating from inside the box...strong necromancy.
As Sheridan mentions the box, the halfling moves away from it...
