Crafting Animated Objects via the Craft Construct feat

How much does it cost to craft an animated object (as per the creature entry) via the Craft Construct feat? The creature entry makes it clear that this can be done, but it doesn't give a crafting sidebar like golems do (and as such does not leave a price tag, spell prerequisites, or a caster level).

I think that this is a misnomer.
all objects may be constructed with the appropiate craft skill, however animated object is the creature type for constructs.
as for the price tag, spell prerequisites, or caster level see the spell entrys for animate object, and peramency.

Sorry, but animated object is NOT a creature type.

Also, I want to make animated objects via the Craft Construct feat, not the Permanency spell. If I use the spell, they can be dispelled. If I use the feat (which the rules say I can do), then they can't be dispelled.

Considering Animate object isn't listed as a Wizard Spell and wizards are known to do this sort of thing. There should be an avenue to use the craft construct feat.

If there isn't a RAW cost, can anyone recommend a good second source?

Yeah i got that backwards, construct is the creature type for animated objects.

all objects may be constructed with the appropiate craft skill, then just use the appropiate golem entry for the material type as a baseline for a ballpark figure.

Will there be no clarification on this? I would really like this one answered! James?

As do I! (still)

Either James or Sean has already answered this question on a previous thread. The space for the information relating to construction of animated objects was cut, and therefore the rules were never written. It may or may not be presented in the future.

Practice your search-fu to find the post. It was at least a month ago. I think.

It was three and a half months ago.

Unless there is a more recent thread that I missed (I stopped looking when I found this - which was only about 20 seconds because it was the first thread at the top of my results list on my first search).

The quick and easy solution for folks who want to use Craft Construct to create a persistant animated object that doesn't simply use the spell + permanency...

The permanency route costs 15,000 gp. Although the Craft Construct route results in a better creature, since you can't dispel magic a construct made with Craft Construct (and you can dispel permanent spells), you DO still need a pretty tough-to-qualify for to even DO this (whereas you can achieve the permanency solution with just a few spells or even scrolls).

As a quick-and-dirty solution, I would suggest that it costs 2,000 gp per CR of the animated object to craft it.
