I have a player in my new game that is playing the Paizo Alchemist class.
She had the idea in her head before choosing the class that the PC (From a society based on Magocracy and arcane ability) would be completely inept at arcane magic, thus being a complete familial embarrasment. Flunked out of Magic Day Camp as a child, no inborn sorcerous abiility, nothing.
But she found a calling in mixing herbs and chemicals and drugs to make up for her lack of otherwise magical-less nature.
So she's looking for a feat of some kind that backs up this idea a bit further, making magic that targets her work kinda wonky... is tthere anything out there that might do this? That might make spells effecting her bounce, or fail, or be enhanced, etc?

It kinda goes against what an alchemist is...they infuse their magical essence with their mixtures to get the desired effect...basically a sorcerer that channels it in a different way. Any such feat (in my opinion) would affect the extracts, mutagens, and bombs the character would make.

In the XPHB, there's a few feats that interfere with psionics. Hostile Mind, for example, forces the manifester to save or take damage when targeting the subject with telepathy psionics, but the subject is also banned from using psionics themselves.
For a magic-related feat, how "wonky" is wonky? There are already feats like Iron Will, Great Fortitude, and for reflexes that will help out against spells requiring saves in either of these three categories.
Is the player looking for an SR kind of feat, or something random like what happens when a magic scroll is misread and an unknown backlash happens?

she was thinking more the random effect of a scroll misread or a Use Magic Device failing, at least part of the time. Any ideas there?
Since I posted that (I know, not long ago) it occured to Me that I could write a kind of Unearthed Arcana-style Bloodline that would do some of this... Iron Will and Great Fortitide would help in that sense...
