Morning all! (not naming names for fear of upsetting anyone)

Hope your day is going well. The heat here is making folks crabby, and I have to say I am one of them. I need to venture over the dreaded Sagamore Bridge today and go do some errands in the Pilgrim's hometown (ick). Not looking forward to the traffic.

By the way, question for those on the thread who live in Michigan. Does your state have a reputation for bad driving or did I just encounter two of your worst yesterday? A tourist with Michigan plates almost sideswiped me in a rotary, then another not an hour later pulled out in front of me, causing me to jack my brakes on and skid. Coincedence or a cultural thing? I never had a problem with Michiganers before, usually it's the Quebecois ... =P

*blink*

Coincidence I would say. Other than some issues with viewing speed limits as mere suggestions, and I'm as guilty of that as anyone else, I haven't encountered too much bad driving around here.

I've found that any out-of-towners tend to be troublesome drivers.

Good morning! Sorry to hear you're already burnt out, Moorluck. I know that feeling. Luckily, I haven't gotten to that point in the new job. :)

CrimJ, I hope you feel better soon.

I was catching up on FaWTL posts, and the bed seemed like a comfortable place to read. Next thing I knew it was morning.

My local radio station interviewed my nemesis, Bret Michaels, today. I deemed him my nemesis due to his 'miraculous' recoveries from the brain hemorrhage and stroke, while I struggled. I say this in half-jest because I suspected it was PR bull.

He opened up and described how tough it is to ramp up for even the smallest events. So the man is human afterall, and my own struggles are the same as his. He is no longer the thorn in my side, and I wish him well in his future trials.

If I'm unfamiliar with a place, I'll definitely make mistakes when driving.

I wondered about him recovering so quickly. I thought it must have been the drugs...

Morning, all. What did I miss?

(I was so busy at work yesterday trying to be ready for my extended vacation that I wasn't able to check in here at all. I'm sure there was much weeping.)

There was definitely some whaling. :)

I'm still recovering from jet lag and Woodrotovirus-D. I slept for 12 hours last night.

When does your vacation start?

It'll be worth it when it's all done.

Have a good time. Post when you get a chance, especially pictures.

Gooooooooooooooooood morning Fawlty Towers!!!!

Sorry I didn't say good night yesterday- a computer error towards the end of the work day made it impossible to post. Worry not, ladies of FAWLTY, your beloved FhDM is okay. If any of you wish to run into my arms for comfort(preferably in slow motion), my arms will always be open to you. opens arms

Went into Queens on the bike via the Belt Parkway Greenway again last night. It's wonderful how close the other borough is. I went at night so I wasn't as awed by the sunset(although the moon was extrordinarily bright), and it took me all of fifteen minutes to get there. I may make the place my new hangout spot for writing if I can find a starbucks or something- it's great for solitude. That and ten minutes away people actually wave to you and wish you good evening- it's almost like you're in another country or something!!!!

Work's gonna be worky today, so I better get cracking.

Well, while cleaning out the attic of her recently departed mother's home, Jasmine came across long-lost video footage of Elvis Presley auditioning for the role of Kato in the old Green Hornet TV series. Meanwhile, rumor was spreading that a secret hit team composed of black ops clowns from the Ringling Brothers Circus had been tracking terrorist cells in the United States. And, across town, Miley and Fracois were caught off guard when their car was attack by a herd of vicious....No, wait! That's my soap opera.

Morning Fawtlies!

Taig: Glad you're feeling better.

FDM: Where in Queens? Astoria has some great Greek coffee/pastry shops. Flushing is all about the Asian tea/cake places. Also, the Queens library on Main Street.

"Are you a registered voter...?"

Spoiler:
"um, yeah."
"Would you be willing to sign a petition to get rid of the current city government and put a system that more closely resembles the Federal government system?"
**really should have kept my mouth shut** "so what's wrong with the current system?"
"Things that need to happen aren't happening in a timely manner."
"Have you actually seen how the Federal government operates?"
"??"
"How long did it take for the Health Care Reform bill take to come to fruition?"
"um, I don't know?"
"And now that it's passed, what does it say?"
"??"
"What has it done for you?"
"??"
"So you are telling me that you want to replace a system that a few hundred(?) people have a problem with and put in its place a system that a few million(?) people have a problem with?"

hey taig how does one get started in GMing PFS? I want to see if I can get it started here in Ames, and I want to know how to get the paperwork going. Also how do I use my society number from the con to my profile here? I found my number on my account page and I don't know how that works.

It's pretty easy. You get other people to sign up, you run a game, and you log it (using the forms I had to fill out at PaizoCon). Now, I haven't GMed outside PaizoCon, but I think there's a way to electronically log your games.

Read through the Pfs guide. It's very helpful, and it's a free download.

From what my brother told me, yes. I'm pretty sure Wolfthulhu is DMing their PFS game in Houston, so he'd know for sure.
