Of course, there are a ton of reasons that go well past the issue with challenge resolution. But that would likely take pages and pages of discussion to detail fully. Okay folks, as promised, here is my idea for the clerics in my homebrew. Keep in mind this is a 3.5 homebrew, not Pathfinder(I started it under 3.5 and will keep it as such until it is complete, at which time I will probably do a Pathfinder update).

Basically, it's a twofold operation. First up, I will be changing the spell progression in that I add the domain spell to the amount of spells a cleric can cast per day. I will also be changing the way domain spells(not abilities) work so that a cleric will be able to drop a prepared spell at any time in order to cast a domain spell, provided the spells are of an equivalent level.

Second and more radically, I'm changing the way turning/rebuking undead works. This change takes pages from Pathfinder as well as Kingdoms of Kalamar. This ability will be called "Miracle" and be analogous to turn/rebuke attempts in that it follows the same mechanic: Cha +3 times/day. It functions as a combination of the channel positive/negative energy and the beneficial and harmful benefits of the Kingdoms of Kalamar channeling abilities: essentially, the player decides whether they are healing damage or doing damage(if the latter the target must make a save vs. that effect as normal) and the target will also enjoy (or have to make another save vs.) a secondary effect of the cleric player's choosing). There will be a list of miracles associated with each deity, each domain, and a few generic ones. I'm currently thinking they will work like an amalgamation of feats and domain abilities. There is also a mechanic for what happens when a cleric is out of "Miracle"s for the day and still wants to squeeze another one out(randomized ability score damage, I will go into that another time).

This is rushed primarily because it's time for me to head out for the day, but also because I don't have my netbook on me. I like this idea, and it's generic enough that I'm sure other people have tried it before; if anyone has any knowledge of this please post or e-mail me on it and I'll see about working with that person to come up with something even better(or at worst, just credit them for coming up with the idea before I did). What do you guys think?

So long for now, rushing to meet up with wife to iron out some financial issues...

Afternoon FAWTLy, how goes it?

Instead of heading in to work to check the on the sales issues we went to lunch with some friends and got some hair cuts. We're like sheared sheep now! Hopefully we can find someone with a camera to get some pics of us.

Does anyone else here use TeaTree shampoo? I love the stuff, my head has never felt so refreshed. The scent leaves you feeling invigorated too! </sales pitch>

So, should I feel guilty about requesting vacation time so soon after coming back from disability?

I have 5 weeks vacation time to burn. Use or lose it company.

I'm thinking 'not', 'cause recuperating has not exactly been fun and relaxing.

I would not feel guilty about it. That time is yours to burn. At what point will you lose it?
Year end. I'll hold back a couple of weeks for the fall. I can't afford to go anywhere, but time off is always nice. Damn hospital wants 3 grand, so I should be looking for a part-time job. *sigh*

This is the way I see it and you can count on it being correct:

If your company will give you a hard time about using both your sick leave (for a very real illness) AND your vacation leave then they do not respect the fact that you have both.

If you cannot use both (sick leave when sick and vacation as you see fit) then you do not have both. Since you do have both, use what you wish to use of your vacation leave and tell them to piss off if they give you problems.

End Note:
A possible idea when you have so much leave for a year (that you are unable to carry over) is to preschedule it all at the end of the year. Then as the year progresses, you can ask to take leave (partly in advance) as needed and remove it from the scheduled days. If they won't give you the desired changes then you still get to keep the days off you have been allotted. This is an idea if there is an early submission deadline for vacation days such that they are not required to honor submissions afterward such as asking for a week or two off right now would probably be.

We don't get enough Froggy around here. Good to see you, Hugo.

Sounds great, when can I be there for leftovers?

Now as for the pulled pork, in SC it simply has to be a vinegar based sauce, I think it's in the state constitution or sumthin'. Ask the guys who came to MB about Prossers.... and the inhuman amount of pig I can destroy in one sitting.
