Nobody knows.

I blame Face Book. And Arizona. And the latest oil spill. And my woman winning a free lunch on the other side of town. And Half Price Books. And whores.

Well he joined a FB group saying there is no such thing as too many books; so either he reads or he never has to buy TP.

Yeah, its hard to wipe with a kindle.

But it's amazing what you can get with a Nook & cranny on the fanny...

Maybe he just burns them.

Like they do in Texas.

They have libraries in Texas? Wait....isn't Dubya getting a library down there? But will it have books? I hear he likes Curious George and Richard Scarry.

Has anyone tried meditation for pain management? I've been hearing a lot recently about meditation's benefits for all sorts of medical conditions - anxiety, pain, depression, addictions - and the results seem pretty good.

I meditate every day and it does help some. I have been meditating off and on for about 10 years now, so setting myself into that frame of mind can be remarkably relaxing. Staying in that frame of mind is my challenge. ;)

Freehold DM wrote:

+1 on the Cymbalta tip.

Although some people have said this medication has saved their lives when it comes to their fibromalasia symptoms, I've found that it really doesn't do much for those I know that take it. It's great for the OCCASIONAL aches and pains of depression and for perhaps a certain type of fibro, but not the ones I've encountered.

Good luck with the muscle relaxants- if you can get the scrip for 'em, use them. Do NOT get addicted, however, that's a type of hell I wouldn't wish on ANYONE.

I am sure it works fine for those who don't suffer from extreme fibro symptoms. Like your friends, it has done nothing for me except improve my mood.

Addiction does worry me. I come from an.....interesting....family and I have seen how addiction can destroy a person.

During my next appointment I plan to broach the subject of addressing the pain more aggressively. I just don't think he has an appreciation for the scope of my pain. Part of that is my fault. Like many stupid guys, I play down the pain when I talk to my doctor. Of course, that doesn't help anything. Part of the process is going to be just pulling my head out of my ass. :)

...and I'm caught up with this post.

My woman put her business card in a fishbowl at a restaurant she stops by from time to time as it's close to where she's been temping for almost two years as a freelance graphics designer. It was for Noodles & Co. She was able to invite up to six people - including herself - to come in and try out free samples of sandwiches that they were doing as a test run in Columbus (Columbus is a huge market when it comes to testing out food items before unveiling it to the rest of the nation). It was on the other side of town (to put it in perspective since Alleynbard's a local - I'm in Pataskala and it was in Upper Arlington). Sampled a Philly Cheesesteak and a Meatball sub. Didn't eat much as bread fills me up quickly.

When I'm on that side of town, I check out the HPBs in that area (I'm a bibliophilic whore). I was estatic to find a copy of Rogue Trader half-off! Never played it or Dark Heresy yet ... nor am I familiar with the gaming mechanics for WH40K, but I got to admit that their art and presentation rivals that to Paizo's. I've always wanted to play a grim & dystopic sci-fi fantasy game and hopefully would be able to port something akin to that to Pathfinder mechanics someday (which is why i was really on board for the P20 Modern that Super Genius Games was trying to get off the ground, but sadly that patronage project ends tomorrow evening and it's not going to happen....for now...*sigh*). Got a couple other books as well and also picked up a $25.00 gift card for a later visit because they were offering an additional $5.00 free card to use during the month of June.

In other news, there was a tragedy that occurred in my girlfriend's family. Her husband is my woman's second cousin and their extended family is large and very close. They also have three young children aged 7 and younger. The youngest two are so young that they may barely, if ever, be able to remember their mother.

We've yet to ever leave our dog overnight at a kennel or anywhere else w/o us and it was going to be on such short notice (although he does have all his necessary shots). Also, we're looking at least a 5 1/2 hour drive. The showing is tomorrow and the funeral is on Saturday morning. We came to the conclusion that she should head down to Cincy to meet up with her mother and grandmother and they -- along with a caravan of others -- are going to head out. It'll be more financially feasible for us to do it this way, too. I would have gone if she had pressed me to do so, but we've made peace with how we're handling it. I just got to make sure she's up and out the door before 7:30 tomorrow morning. She's not a morning person, to say the least.

On that note, please resume the madness.

Taig,

Don't be too discouraged if your interview didn't go well tonight. It seems like you are getting a lot of interview activity. The mutually right position is bound to pop up.

I'm not too terribly discouraged. It's giving me some practice for future interviews, so that's something. I might even find out that I did pretty well on the interview. It's hard to say. Besides that, my wife is a little scared of the idea of us moving across the country, so it might work out for the best that I don't get the job anyway.

I'm lucky that I have a job (admittedly, one that I dislike) where I have the "luxury" of waiting for the right new job to show up.

Thanks.
