Its eyes..it's like it can see me, even in death(and through the computer). Thank god I watched Starship Troopers. Everyone's been preparing for the zombie apocalypse- they've been prepping for the wrong species!

Nah, I don't listen to any radio. Period. The only time I do is to listen to the local AM station for the local talking heads (not politics related) and traffic updates ... however they do syndicate both of those buttmunches. That's when my bloviator warning goes off and I switch the dial or throw on the iPod.

I honestly thought everyone was talking about the band, not the man. Man, allergies make me stupid!

Ha! No, I <3 Rush -- the band! They're playing here in Columbus in August, but I'm waiting for the sticker shock of the ticket prices when announced. Needless to say, I'm going to be selling plasma and hookin' at the neighborhood street corner to drum up some cash ... at the same time. Maybe open up a lemonade whiskey stand too while I'm at it.

So I got a definite "no" back on my request for leave this summer. There's no way to add vacation time so that it works.

Where I previously worked, you could 'buy' up to five extra days each year for vacation. The catch is that they had to be consecutive days and you have the choice of paying it back in six months or a year via paycheck garnishments.

There are some interesting ways to handle paid time off here. The issue I'm running into is that they have a 4 week cap on all non-medical leaves, period. It doesn't matter how much vacation time I have or anything like that. I can't be absent for more than 4 weeks without a valid medical reason.

You suddenly contracted tuberculosis and had to be quarrantined at this posh hotel eating raw mangos. You're not allowed to leave that country until you are checked out and cleared for travel.

The plan is to work up until mid June (and give notice 2 to 3 weeks in advance), then go to Europe, then come back and start moving. But I will want to start applying for jobs in advance, with the hope that there might be something in the pipeline by August. It's risky...

Italy (again). Sort of all over. I will be taking intermediate Italian courses which will be very helpful for my grad school plans.

I don't have lots of Italian experience. I want Milano, Fiorenza, and Venezia, but haven't made it yet. I've only been to Roma (dirtiest city I've ever been in) and Genova. The latter thoroughly charmed me.

Se avete intenzione di Napoli, stai andando a mangiare una pizza salsiccia?

Actually, the pizza was pretty rockin' in this little hole in the wall in Genova.

Glory Hole Pizza Parlor. You don't say.

Silver Crusade

The pizza's rockin' everywhere in Italy. Napoli can be a dangerous place for visitors if you don't know where you're going.

Mairk, I'm surprised you found Roma so dirty. Maybe it's where you were. The parts I've seen were much cleaner than most of the rest of the country, except for the subways, which are dirty in any city. (Now Firenze - THAT'S dirty.)

By the way, we should probably stop calling this "Treppa's idea". If I wind up penniless, turning tricks in Compton, trying to save up bus fare to come home, I wouldn't want her name tied to it :)

Spoiler:
Obviously, I wouldn't be considering it if that was at all a possibility - I'm using hyperbole.

Spoiler:
Because let's face it, I'd make more money turning tricks in West Hollywood.

You can get the FAWTL special for $10.

Spoiler:
It involves beating you with a ceramic mug and taking your $10.

A FAWTL special involves ironing a grilled cheese on their chest while rummaging their pockets!

You know, I was going to suggest this detachment from my good name. I was simply pointing out options. I'm not an agent of chaos, nope, unh-uh.

So a long time ago as a joke I made a character based on Piffany from the Nodwick comic. I'm in the process of rewriting her to use as a cohort in the current game. This should be interesting....:)

You know, you could just stay in Italy. It's gorgeous there, you're learning Italian, and your partner has interests there too. Why come back? Your fawtl family is online, so there's nothing to lose.
