Yeah, sligs.
Ah...a quick Google search shows it's a Dragonlance creature. I assumed I was just reading it wrong.

Frankly, I wonder if RC will just break his alliance with Xykon and let him go on his way. With the goblins having their own nation, someone needs to lead them. Redcloak can tell old bony to take a flying leap. I'm also surprised that Xykon/Redcloak haven't tried building their own gate on their breech.

Maybe, but I think Redcloak's goals are still focused on the gods, and he needs Xykon's help to reach those. Plus, if he were to reject Xykon, there's a good chance that the happy new nation of Gobbotopia would become the smoking crater of Ruinopolis.

+1
Just remember the lesson Redcloak learned in Start of Darkness when his brother was plotting to kill Xykon, then have RC heal his missing eye so Xykon wouldn't know who he was. Something to the effect of:
"You idiot, if you looked just like every other goblin, Xykon wouldn't just decide he couldn't tell which was you and give up on revenge. He'd KILL EVERY GOBLIN just to make sure one of them was you!"
Very ouch.

Ok so if Xykon and Redcloak split (either Xykon decided to do so b/c RC lied to him about the whole snarl giving Xykon all the power or b/c RC decided to lead the goblin nation) who would eventually call the OotS to help them fight the other. I doubt Xykon would, but RC I could see him asking the OotS for help in exchange for ... closing the snarl's breech or something like that.

When Xykon says it is time to move again, Redcloak will walk away from the achievement of everything he has been fighting for his entire life. That is the real tragedy of the Goblins in this universe.
Note, Redcloak's one eye. The moment he murdered his brother, Redcloak allowed himself to become too subservient to Xykon to ever split from him.

O, say can you see in the darkness of night
Who so proudly we killed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose blue shirts and bright swords thru the perilous fight
O'er the parapets we saw and to whom we gave a reaming...
