Succubi Immune To Fire? - Curious Anomoly or Intentional?

Rules Questions

I read the Beastiry when I first got it, and whilst the Shadow Demon understandably has immunity to Cold in addition to standard Demon (Ta'anari) immunities due to its incorporeal nature, I could help but notice that Succubi are immune to Fire in addition to Electricity, but are otherwise identical to the succubi of 3.5, and their advanced form's the Lilitu (Fiendish Codex I : Hordes Of The Abyss) would benefit also from this Immunity I'd wager if this were true also.

I know alot of creatures in Pathfinder have been 'tweaked' (especially Nymphs, who went from CHA 18 to CHA 27 in addition to one new ability and an extra hit die) but I just wonder if the Immunity To Fire was intentional or a misprint, perhaps it was intentional but then it doesnt neccisarily make sense compared to other Ta'anari. I cant see what a Succubi is exposed to that would render it Immune racially.

I know its a piddling point, I personally just use it as written - but just wondering if anyone has any insight into it. Thanks. ^_^

Ciao.

the only insight I have is the fact that succubi actually were immune to fire in 2nd edition, they lost it in 3rd edition.

Only thing I can think off is that paizo wanted to get back to a classic, if bit strange, ability the succubus had in olden times.

Because lust is hot? :D

Sorry couldn't resist.

Thanks for responding...lol, its just a curiosity I had, I dont remember the Succubi in 2nd Edition's statistics much...lol, I never ran it only played it a few years back.

They are demons... they are from some of the firey planes... like devils...Some are from the cold places of hell and some from the hot. But a "hot" succubi immune to fire makes more sense to me than ice. Granted this is purely an opinion based on aesthetics, but it is my take on it.

This is because Erinyes (pardon the spelling) which were devils in 3.5 and thus immune to fire were removed from pathfinder and amalgamized into the succubus. At least that is my take on it.

Erinyes are still there, but are more in line with the Furies aspect, rather than a devil seducer.

Erinyes still exist in Pathfinder. I think they were removed from D&D 4e.
