Does this feat allow you to bypass damage reduction besides magic?

No

No, it only specifies overcoming DR/magic. Spells themselves overcome all DR but this just makes your weapon on par with say a +1 Short Sword, which fails against DR/silver.

thanks for the info.

Not too sure about this, but the feat states that the bonus increases as you go up levels.

If this is the case, then I'm curious as to how it would work once you are able to imbue a weapon with a +3 bonus or higher, would that overcome damage reduction as per page 562 of the Core Rulebook?

Page 562 Core Rulebook wrote:

DR Type/Bonus Equivalent
cold iron or silver/+3
adamantine/+4
alignment-based/+5

From the PRD (Glossary)- "Weapons with an enhancement bonus of +3 or greater can ignore some types of damage reduction"

It specifies enhancement bonus, meaning a magic weapon with that bonus or higher.

Arcane Strike has to be interpreted in a fairly literal fashion, it gives an un-typed bonus to damage. Even though the weapon is considered magical, Arcane Strike does not give it any Enhancement Bonus.

Thank you, that will save an arguement with a player of mine.

I think it would be an awfully easy way for an Eldritch Knight to overcome the DR of basically any level appropriate creature if that was the case, Ekeebe.

If you look in the Magic Weapon spell for comparison it even mentions being unable to bypass DR other then DR/magic. That's a spell that does give an enhancement bonus too.

But the Feat draws upon your arcane power to "Enhance" (part of the "Enhance"ment) your weapons with magical power. Read the "Benefit" part of the Feat, this is the case, a weapon with a +3 bonus or higher, would overcome damage reduction as per page 562 of the Core Rulebook?

Arcane Strike Feat is not the Spell "Magic Weapon" (apples and oranges)

but I don't like it because it does not cost any spell slots to use.

I would like it to use a spell slot, duration: 1 hour per spell slot:
1st level slot equals to +1
2nd level slot equals to +2; requires master work weapon
3rd level slot equals to +3; requires master work weapon
4th level slot equals to +4; requires master work weapon
5th level slot equals to +5; requires master work weapon

It does have the cost of a swift action every round its used that can't be used for a spell or something like Arcane Armor Training.

Hi,

In looking at the RAW under Arcane Strike, I cannot find any reference to what type of bonus the feat applies. Is this truly an 'unspecified' bonus type to damage? I.e., would it specifically stack with a +1 enhancement bonus?

Or is it an enhancement bonus? Is there a 'feat bonus' I am not aware of?

Would it stack with weapon focus in the appropriate weapon?

Thanks.

The Arcane strike description is clear, it gives an unnamed bonus to damage, meaning it stack with every other bonus.

It counts as a magic weapon, meaning it overcomes DR/Magic, if it would overcome DR like a +3 , +4 or + 5 weapon it would have been mentioned.

Weapon Focus gives a bonus to hit, Arcane strike only gives a bonus to damage so it both works fine, it stacks fine with other damage bonus too however since it is unnamed. (such as specialization)
