Is it just me or did something reset? All of my dots on the forums where I've posted have disappeared and the new posts in parenthesis are not appearing either. Everything was fine and dandy before midnight EDT. Hm..
Okay, now that's really weird. I posted the previous message and all of my posting dots suddenly reappear. The new posts counter have not, though. Is the Postmonster spreading from FaWTL:TNG like a virus? :P

I also noticed that the new posts counter has gone AWOL.

However, it was mentioned that the messageboards were having issues yesterday. Perhaps the Postmonster General disabled those functions temporarily?
Vanished for me too this morning, but it seems to be back for threads I've viewed since - looks like the memory was cleared.

Wow, that just took forever to work (i.e. responding to the thread). Several times during the day yesterday I was having a hard time posting, and the boards went down a few times, and after one of those times, the dots and "X new" for me went away as well. Not sure what happened, but I'm wondering if they aren't related.
The website performance problems and the "x new" and dots going away are in fact related. I had to reboot the service that stores the "x new" and dots counts last night. The "x new" and dots will return over the next few days.
I also have not been able to add threads to my feeds for IE8, is that also related?
It might. I've given the RSS servers a kick which looks like it might have solved the performance problems we've been seeing intermittently today.
Tested it out, and seems to be working ok now (knock on wood).
