Round 3: Alchemist and Inquisitor


I don't know if anyone has suggested this yet (searching this forum didn't help much) but how about making Linguistics a class skill for alchemists?

It could be a good way to capture the feel of historical alchemy, obsessing over secret formulae, encoded into obscure language and references.

Huh... my reaction to the title was "what? why?" but after reading the rest it makes a bit of sense.

Notably, one etymology for the word "gibberish" is that it makes reference to the nigh-indecipherable writings of Jabir (Geber), a prominent 8th-century alchemist.
