Holy Crap... I +1 Kirk's statement. I couldn't live without red meat (the redder the better - I have my steak Blue)

Me, I am trying an improv chili recipe in the crock to take gaming tomorrow. I hope it is good.
Mmmmm Chili. I havn't had a good chili in awhile, maybe I should get the woman to pick up the stuff for me.
And don't forget the cornbread, gotta have cornbread with chili. :)
I have no idea what Cornbread is and given I'm not a huge fan of any knid of Corn that's not in a Shell or a Chip then I'm not sure I'd go for it.
On the Chilli front though, Mel picked me up some Turbo Charge 10+ Habanero Chilli Paste (Oh Gods how I love that stuff!) last weekend, so I am mega keen to make my Chilli again soon! :D

I might do the cornbread bit. Excellent idea with chili.
Other tidbits from work this week...
1. We had a couple workers from another lab spend a few days using one of our calibrators. One was cool and brought me some homemade beef jerky after we started talking about cooking. Yeah for free food.
2. This also led to a discussion of an interesting dish: pork seasoned with pork. Basically it involves taking a pork roast, cutting slits in it before cooking, and then stuffing the pork roast with bacon. MMMM bacon.
3. One of my co-workers (retired US Navy) told a funny stunt that I cannot believe he did. His wife is Phillippino and they have been married for 30 years. He had previously made the mistake of doing his own taxes and then had her hound him over and over saying 'so and so took this as a deduction why didn't you', etc. etc. So, now he takes their taxes to a tax service and brings hers back to sign. So, this year he brought back about an inch thick of paper and told her she needed to sign in about four places which she did without reading. He then informed her that they were now officially divorced and he would see her later. I don't think the joke went over too well. :(
1) Free food is always a win!
2) Bacon makes everything better! Don't believe me? Try it in your Corn Flakes.
3) That is sick.... I laughed. :D
1) Funnily enough I don't actually like Beef Jerky. Anyone who knows me is usually quite surprised by this...
2) I +1 what Kirk said... well except for the Cornflakes bit. Even I'm not that insane! ;)3) I had to suppress my laugh. Everyone's asleep. Under different circumstances that's something that I'd try.

Good evening Flash! Good morning my fellow Murrikins!
BTW, cornbread is a delicious treat made from ground cornmeal. Very dense, often sweet, very cakey (IMO). Goes very good with chili, especially if you break it up and mix it in with it! YUM!

Hey Pat.
Does 11.15pm still count as evening? ;)
I gotta stay up to make sure the 2 Portable DVD Players we got the Kids for their Birthdays are charged and ready to go in case they want to play with them. Originally we boght them for Christmas, but after some dilemas as to whether or not the Cars one we got for Seth from America (thank you sooooo much again Moorluck and Solnes for doing that for us) would work properly over here we decided to hold off 'til their Birthdays (we also got Caitlin a Fairies (Tinkerbell) one) so we could be sure.

errr... Yes and No. :/
Yes it works fine. Charged up and turned on without a hitch. No it won't play anything. I was sure when we bought it that it said it was a Multi-Region player, but apparently it will only play NTSC and everytime I put in one of our PAL DVDs it came up saying "incorrect DVD region". :(

Yeah I was thinking that I may have to call on you guys to get us some stuff, so thanks for the offer. :)
I'll talk to Melodie about it tomorrow and see what she wants to do, but I have a feeling that this may be our only option, to "double up" on some of his favourites.I think somehow that CARS would be #1 on the top of that list. ;)

Right now our local Wally World is having a DVD sale, so consider it our B-Day gift to the little man. If you can let us know about 7-8 of his faves so I can get them this Sunday. :)

Cool, thanks, but I'm sure Melodie will want to send you money for it (as would I... that is waaay too much).
I'll definately hit Melodie up first thing about it though and send you a message (I'm gonna have an extremely limited amount of computer time tomorrow, gotta be up and on the go first thing to prepare the yard).

Yeah the DVDs do play on my computer.EDIT: Ahhh didn't see your edit until after I replied. I'm assuming you mean to copy them and make the copy a different Region, right? I thought of that but honestly it's waaaaay too much screwing around. I'd probably just rather bite the bullet and buy like a dozen of his favourites again.

Nope. And anyway, no car :/ I'm stuck at the hotel until my partner finishes his test and comes to pick me up. It'll probably be in an hour or two.
Thank goodness for my laptop and some RPG books.

We'll be concerned when you start capitalizing pronouns referring to bacon cheeseburgers as well.

OK, funny story about Pay Channels in Hotels:
When I was 12 I went on a Cultural Exchange thingie to America (LA) and we stopped over in Hawaii for a few days on the way home. There were 4 of us guys who had 2 rooms just down the hall from each other. We started to watch the Pr0n channel, but after 30 seconds it went fuzzy, so we then switched to the second pr0n channel, until it too went fuzzy. We repeated this back and forth until after about 5 minutes both just went fuzzy full time. We then raced down the hall to the other room and did the same thing on their TV. By that time, our TV had reset and so we raced back down to do it all over again on our TV. We did this for about an hour, 4 12 year old guys running back and forth between rooms every 5 minutes to catch a glipmse of some Z grade pr0n...
