Congrats! Are you looking to step up from lurker to poster status?
Yep, sounds about right. Also, took a break for lunch, and now am in class again! Oh boy!

Just so you know.

not for 8 hours yet.

Hah, I'm at... about an hour left, and the class I'm in is one of those "working on something, make sure it's at least slightly related." And my project is on technology, so I have an excuse to be on my laptop.

Alright, here we are.
This is me, disproving my sock puppetness.

Same pic is on the other thread.

Speaking of classic gaming, it's about that time of year again..

Anyone remember a text-based game called Dungeon! ? It was the very first video game I ever played. I think I was what...5 or 6? It was probably a take off of Zorg(or whatever the classic text-based game is). All I remember is that there was a particularly "dumb parser" who was your guide in the game, and that the first thing you ever fight is an orc, who does not bleed but instead oozes smoke when killed. Also, you are supposed to put all sorts of trophy items you find in and around the Dungeon into a case in the trophy room or something like that.

Anyone else remember that? Perhaps our senior citizens? ;-)

ah...to be a noob again. [sings off key] memories... [/sings off key]

Stick around and we'll get you around the necessary blocks. What prompted you to come out of the lurking closet and into the posting ether?

I was actually active for a tiny bit a really long time ago, then stopped coming. Quite the shame, considering how much fun I'm already having, I must have forgotten how awesome it was here. So, I'm back and ready to post some more! Hooray!

Yeah, I noticed that. That's okay; I lurked for quite some time before I posted and didn't make much of a splash at first.

Actually, now to think of it, I'm still irrelevant. :P

Look what you did!

You ruined it.
That net was only 5 days away from retirement!

Yeah... Mayhaps I shall join something, and then be slightly more relevant at least.

There's a lot to choose from. What specifics are you looking for?

some of the more major deities, plus their significance in their time, and compare it to some of the more modern religious ideas and those significances in today's society.

Knock yourself out here to start. I have a bunch of mythology books around the house if you're looking for something more specific I can reference.

Try "From Asgard to Valhalla," "The Prose Edda," and "D'Aulaire's Book of Norse Myths." lots of good books.
