Gather round, children, and I'll tell you a tale of magic and muscle, steel and spell, ka and katana. This is the tale of a lone gish, making his way through a world of violence and wonder. This the tale of STABBY BLAST, sword-swinger and spell-slinger extraodinaire. In the dim years of the before time, adventurers had at least one companion, for one could not be master of all. But all that changed when the Angelmage Mun Ch' Kin fell from the heavens. The impact of his death dispersed great magic and superhuman power into a crater. Into that crater stumbled a pregnant woman, fleeing her abusive husband, the renowned sorcerer Ast. She gave birth in that magic place, and brought forth a son. Reaching around herself to find something to free the child, her hand strayed on the sword of Mun, which she used to disperse caul and chord. Thus STABBY entered the world, the heir of Mun and the son of Ast, or in the tongue of that land, Bl'Ast.
As a child, he dealt the death of justice to Ast. When he came into manhood, he bid farewell to his mother, and went forth in the world to discover his doom, to find his fortune, and to show forth to all his mastery of word arcane and sword arm.

Your memory is befuddled my friend. For Stabby Blast met Tarowin on the road to Bulla-bulla. There in the clearing of Aotma Az, before the great jungle Manithr Edz, they met. Tarowin saw the sword of Mun, and greatly he desired it for himself. He said in his heart, "This one travels alone, and is new to the life of the road. I do not need my companions' help, who would only want to share in the sword's price. I will call upon my many years to aid me, and apply my acquired skill to take his life and his sword."
But lo, Stabby perceived his coming. With one hand, his sword snickered forth and stayed his charge, parrying his weapon with blinding speed and strength supernal. With the other, he gestured in the symbol strokes he had learned from years of spying on Ast, and shot forth such mana as did reeve Tarowin of his life-breath. Thus ended Tarowin, in the clearing before the jungle's expanse. And so Stabby Blast pressed on his way.

Ends justify the means
He needs a plucky annoying cheerful sideki- ,er, cohort. Preferably from a drow, tiefling, or other traditionally distrusted race/subrace. Also, female, so she can secretly crush on Stabby while working the Meganekko and Damsel Scrappy cards.
Edit: And you can name her something like Mandy Gichyssoise

Deep in the jungle, Stabby found an abandoned city, entwined in the forgetful vines of the centuries. Entering one of the great complexes still standing, he searched for riches that might slack his appetites. From its ancient vastness came forth two draconic heads, one as dark as shadow itself, the other with teeth straight as spears.
"How dare you soil our lair with your human feet," spake the two-headed wyrm in stereo.
But straightway leapt the gish-god, full forced the heir of Mun sped. Toward the toothy head, he stabbed his blade. Toward the shade-head, he shot eldritch fires. Down fell the twin heads, serpents siblinged in body. The victory belonged to Master Blasto, and the spoils soon were spent.

Yes, fair one, I see you have heard some tell of Ma-ndy-Gichyssoise, although it is confused in the telling or in the remembering. For Ma was ndy, or daughter of, Gichyssoise, Queen of the Drow who lived beneath that forgotten city. But she was banished from even the drow, due to her tainted blood: for she was half-drow, half-tiefling, and her bi-polar bouce betwixt brooding and beaming was matched only by her great, though strange, beauty. Hearing the death-throws of the bifurcated guardian, she made her way from her cryptic den up to the great hall above. There, from the shadows, she spied Stabby Blast, and his Michelangelic musculature called to her together with the ensorcelling charisma of his presence. In lustful trance, she watched him gather up the treasure trove of the dead dualdrake, and decided she would follow him and focus all her manic will and lovely charms on making herself his bosom companion. The gods of fate, hearing her silent vow, laughed as they pulled the skein into their weave...

Little did Stabby Blast know, that he was being trailed as the dragged the treasure sacks behind him on the sledge he built, nor that among the bags of coins and jewels slumbered two cursed idols:
Ah, yes. However is he going to get out of this situation? Is he going to stab it, or cast a spell at it? Oh the tension, it is killing me.
Damn uncreative hack, giving the rest of us a bad name...

Isari of the Frost |

That is where you're wrong, Isari of the Frozen-over-imagination and Frosty-dilemma-panties. For whatever the situation, you can be sure that Stabby Blast will BOTH STAB and BLAST, for he needs no other, and can do both as no other can. He. Is. Gish!
Ah, yes, how could I forget the much-acclaimed option of "doing both at the same time". It's not like we've ever seen that before, hmm? I admit to being somewhat of a one trick pony myself, but at least I do something other than "stab someone with my sword", "shoot someone with generic magic", and "stab someone with my sword and shoot generic magic AT THE SAME TIME!" Schlock like this is why no one takes us seriously, you know.

Isari of the Frost |

US? What mean "US," kemosloby?
You know, swordmages? Duskblades? Eldritch Knights? You know, all us other people who decided that, since magic is cool, and swords are cool, why not use them together? The ones Mr Blast has given a reputation of unreasonable "lovability" just by association?
In other words, I had a pbp character sitting around for too long, and this thread needs a smug critic around to show his disdain for this "Stabby Blast" fellow.

There you are wrong again...for Gish in the language of angels means One, and there is no other. The frost that gathered on your ears has now penetrated even into their canals and found a home far from the sun, in the hollow of your noggin. Although, there is Ga Ga Gish Gish, who was created in heaven at the birth of the Gish, but that must wait for its place to enter the story.
Very good. The foil definitely adds.

Oh, I always thought that Gish referred to the traditional sect of Githyanki mage/warriors. Oh, but I've only wandered through most of this plane, what do I know?

That was in the Before Time, before the pleas of the many raised to heaven and killed Mun, known now as Mun Ch' Kin, or Mun-slain-by-the-many. Mun, whose name in angel-tongue means Balance, was killed by the jealous prayers of the many, who prayed for power because they loved not Balance.
You have wandered long and far, old bones. Sit ye down on yon stump and rest your weariness as my words like shafts of light enter your ears and warm your 'cicled bean.

The githyanki gish got wiped out by these giant frog guys with sticky tongues, who always try to implant their seed in you; you don't want that.
Then, those guys got wiped out by these big ass levitating cosmidellic mosasaurs, and so now a gish means ga ga voodoo stab you with my my poker face, kid.

Thank you, Lady G4. But stay, for my tale has to do with the Now not the Fore, and the Gith lie in dost and Mun who took their powers back to himself in the ongoing-rebalancing that lasted unto his death is no more, save in Stabby Blast and in thee, and of that my tale doth tell, yet each in its own place.

You seem to be confusing the githyanki with their more law-abiding cousins the githzerai. Don't worry, it's a common mistake to make.
Also, you seem to have gone completely insane. You may want to look into that.

I have to go. I need to scalp some drow to make wigs.
But I'll be back.
Isari of the Frost |

Again, of the split of the Gith or their unification in death, my tale touches not, though of the madness of the Lady, more will come, betimes.
Oh, please enlighten me good sir, what is the source of her madness? People want to know.
Oh, wait, it's probably just massive amounts of drugs. After all, you'd need to be higher than a kite to believe these stories are of any actual value.

If you include their bleached skulls as ornaments then,......(coyly)ooh, just jokes!

Can Stabby have twin straight razors of speed and sharpness called "Tinkle" and "Eorinstreme"?
Please?
Only once Stabby gets a feat that allows him to cast his spells through his swords. Until then, he uses the great sword of Mun in one hand and blasts pure arcane energy from the other.
