The Polls have returned!
You can access this week's poll at: Pathfinder Voting Booth
Note: I have been very busy the last few weeks, however the polls should now return to a weekly format now that I have completed the alpha release of my Excel Character Sheet Creator:
Ogre's Sheet
For those that have used Heroforge for 3.5 edition, I'm sure you will find this sheet to be a welcome addition to Pathfinder (except that the Ogre Sheet is much easier and quicker to use). It's still in the testing phase and comments on the sheet can be direct to this thread.

I just have a hard time getting away from a free feat and skill point. Also, I have a difficult time wrapping my brain around being 120 years old and only knowing as much as a 16 year old human, so my teenage love affair with elves has worn off dramatically. That's why I love humans. Figuring the mindset of the longer lived races just keeps grating against me.

Huh...I'm surprised there's so much half-elf love. I thought I was the only one!
Although roleplaying is not supposed to be about optimizing, races like the half-elf probably give you the best bang for the buck. I think that could be a big reason they are well liked, however because of that I thought they would be on par with the human votes.

Yeah that actually brings up a pet peeve of mine. Not saying you do or did it. Only it reminded me of it. When players play dwarves, elves etc as just funny looking humans. Instead of actually trying to play them different.

So what's proper way to rp a dwarf or elf?

Dwarf = you have to act like a grumpy Scotsman with a penchant for being drunk
Elf = you have to act like a Star Trek Vulcan with an appreciation for the arts

I was thinking elf would be closer to hippie but have no inclination to become druid as it takes too much effort to save the woods/planet, and they claim they went to college (wizard school) and yet they don't have any skills or extra knowledge (Well they finally done something this year to learn skills). That and they're also slackers, come on you're fully grown at age 20 (Races of the Wild) and yet you do nothing for 100 years?

Not human, alien in some ways. I am not saying their is specific ways to play them. But someone as long lived as a elf would see things very differently than a human. As far as the grand scheme of things. Things like that should be played up to show how different they are. As a example.

That's one of the reasons I really hate RotW. That's just crappy planning right there. It goes against the traditional flavor text of the elf (they have much longer childhoods, too, traditionally) and it raises even more questions about what they do during those 100 years between reaching majority and actually being adventurers (my favorite idea is that they go into hibernation for a century to build up a "bank of z's" and thereby become immune to sleep magic). I'd much rather assume that elves grow up slower than humans by default.

i think the half-orc would have more love if orc ferocity was more appealing. Using it only once a day and then for only one round just seems weak. Their stat bonuses under the beta were quite attractive (Hello half-orc cleric, druid, monk, paladin, ranger...), but the floating +2 is even more attractive to some. If there is a problem with half-orc's stat bonus it may be that at least half of the stats don't seem very orky.

TBH when I make an Elf character I make him in his 30s and hates being treated like a child, this is especially true if he grew up in human city.
