do elves need sleep now instead of just slipping into a light trance???
i couldnt find any reference to that in the rules.
Thanks in advance for any help!
They didn't include it in the description for elves in the core but if you do some browsing through the spells it specifically mentions in the Nightmare spell and I believe also in the dream spell that (creatures who do not sleep such as elves, but not half-elves are immune to this effect). So it's still in there, it's just a little more obscure. Kinda like how elves are immune to the paralysis of a ghouls touch.

No change from WotC 3.5 rules, since it didn't say they needed sleep in 3.5, but it did in WotC forgotten realms material.
So in short, no change from 3.5 -> 3.p rules regarding the need for sleep by Elves.

Actually, the reason that elves would be immune to Nightmare is because they are immune to magic sleep effects, not because they don't necessarily sleep. As it is, house rules have always existed for a reason, and therefore it should be up to each GM/group what they want to stick with.
