Monk's maneuver training

At 3rd level, monk's use monk level in place of BAB for CMB. I'm wondering if this is supposed to apply to CMD, as well. I realize that it does not, RAW, but it is called "maneuver training" and CMD was added after the beta and this might just have been missed.

(Not looking for a house rule, etc., just hoping one of the J's would comment.)

The monk also gets to add his wisdom and AC bonus to CMD as well, and with a feat can change his CMD calculation like anyone else can (Defensive combat training).

I'm also wondering about this.

Liberty's Edge

Has this ever been addressed in a FAQ somewhere? I just came across the same question trying to troubleshoot some lists for PCgen.

Liberty's Edge

I realize everyone was at the con Saturday when I asked this, so bumping.

As far as I know, it's never been addressed, and it's unlikely to be at this point. It's similar to how monks get full BAB when flurrying, but only 3/4 for attacks of opportunity.

Dark Archive

No, they do not get the bonus to CMD. They do get their Wis and dodge bonuses to CMD, and can take Defensive Maneuver Training like everyone else. Being a Str- and Dex-based cllas and getting Defensive Maneuver Training for free on top of Wis, dodge, (and the Dodge feat as a bonus monk feat) would probably be too much.

Scarab Sages

RAW always seemed reasonable to me. Monks get one bonus on CMD and a different bonus on CMB.

Just one more reason it was really silly not to just give Monks an actual full BAB in the first place.
