You are going to kill me... The Wayfinder is done today but I'm not sure it will be uploaded tonight/tomorrow...fat chance due the RPGSS and all...
I'll check if we can/should upload it somewhere else so that is out on the weekend. Anyway it should be up in the Paizo site on monday the latest (I think).
I'm very sorry we(I) couldn't work faster and have it ready earlier today, thou I'm sure that when you see it you'll confirm that it was well worth the wait ;)
I'll let you know later today if we we'll upload it on another site on sooner.

If you get it out today, there's still time before voting ends on Monday. :)

To diminish the nagging that Hugo and Lilz are getting, I offer this threat to any naggers regarding their future submissions:
I will edit your next piece beyond recognition. You turn in a story about elves and gates to other planets, it will become a gnomish treatise on tapioca pudding. An article about an assassin’s guild in Daggermark will change into a collection of sonnets written by a forlorn stable boy. Everyone in your narrative about a group of adventurers seeking to end a long curse will talk like Oompa Loompas.
I'm excited too.

Quiet you! Or I'll draw you into the next editorial!

LOL! Love this! Oompa Loompas...too funny.
Hugo...I have one word for you: e-mail ;-)

Sorry for the delay, folks. We all got drunk at an after-party. In space.
Editing, last I heard, is done, or so close to done that it and done are, like, identical twins, with "not done" having a freckle on its nose or something.
Actually, I'm gonna go e-mail Hugo right now-ish. But I'd expect a release Monday. Turnaround at Paizo's generally pretty dad-gum fast. And I think they've been able to review it as they go, so they should be able to do a quick scan to see that I didn't sneak in explicit fanservice or explody-heads or change every third word to unpronounceable blasphemous profanity or something.
I am, after all, the troublemaker of the Frog Lab squad. :P

Cool! Right after voting for this round of Superstar ends we get a Wayfinder, then the Top 16 get a day to read it before the next round starts, or a whole week for the rest of us. :)
I can dream, can't I?
That's the hope, at least.
Just got a wee update from Hugo. It's getting final editing and layout spiffification from Crystal, as of last e-mail exchange. We are investigating the current status now. I'm gonna guess that with Crystal's layout super-powers, it should be done in time for a send-off to Paizo Monday morning, final review and approval in the afternoon, and download availability by the time the Paizo folks roll out at 7 pm. But that is all dependent on:
1): Editing being done by Monday morning (99% probable, in my estimation)
2): The high-ups being available for a final lookie-loo (dunno how this all works, as they seem to go through different channels than I do when I submit paper minis; gonna guess 95% probable)
3): No major projects/problems tying up the Paizo servers (last-minute votes clogging up the works or some such/coffee spill on the server farm; perhaps maybe 1% chance of badness)
Statisticians, fire up your calculat-o-trons!
Again, this is all speculative. Crystal found and burnt all of my secret cameras and cleaned all my spyware out of her computer in the Great Purgening of August '09, so I never know what she's up to. And as I said before, Hugo and Liz seem to have a different chain of command from me when it comes to submissions (I talk to Vic Wertz in e-mail format and Cold-War-Era file upload when I'm submitting stuff for approval; they seem to hand the file directly to Gary Teter, who uploads it via mind-link to the server hive and probably performs eldritch thaumaturgies to prepare it for download). Plus, I dunno how auto-tronic the RPG Superstar voting system is and if it requires some massive Data Compilizatior or even a member of the staff to do its thing; I'm gonna guess it's pretty much automatic on their end and won't disrupt day-to-day operations unless, like, 50,000 folks all hit "submit vote" at the same time or something, which I think is unlikely.
So yeah. Bet it's Monday. If not, well... Tuesday, then. That'd be my guess.
Updates to come when updates arrive.

<raise fist in the air>

...I did?
Hmm. I do recall promising "-cake," with the "-" being chosen by fan vote, before learning that I needed to make something in the Paizo IP. Since the votes were mostly for elf cheesecake and what I likened to "creepcake," I did combo that with a certain Pathfinder she-drow.
Well, the cover's kinda fanservice-y, in the whole "not fully nude" fashion. Me, if I do fanservice, I get downright explicit.
Hell, if dA wasn't so surprisingly prudish, and if Paizo didn't have legitimate concerns about being "THAT kind of gaming company," I'd probably draw overt sex acts. I got a comic concept called "Slashfinder" boiling in my brain-meats. For serious. There's a reason people keep a tight leash on me. :P
'Cuz I just don' give a [CENSORED]. :P
we can only hope that he did manage to sneak in the fanservise without them knowing it... decoy maybe?
Oh, you mean, like, making an image with layers where the top layer can be deselected, so the bottom nudie layer comes out in full glory?
Yeah, no. Sorry.
Hugo does seem to be promising a fanservice project sometime later. He might just be being a tease, and I can all but guarantee it won't be an issue of Wayfinder. But he has alluded.
"Girls of Golarion" calendar, maybe? And a "Twelve Months of Emotiel" for the male-preferential set? I dunno.
Write to your local congressman (or Hugo and Lilith) demanding Wankfinder! Do it for (everyone but) the children. :P

I just got a "poke" from Ashton demanding updates:
The status is pretty much the same... some last images are eluding Crystal and while she hunts for those I'm preparing to insert the editorial and the OGL thingie to get it ready as soon as she mails it back. This is a matter of one hour tops so WF2 is just some click away from release.
Sorry it has taken this long, these tiny editing issues are taking the best of us! [shakefist].
On the plus side, we'll try to list any requirements tha may turn up for WF3 that we all know its release date: PaizoCon 3.
On Ashton's comment 'bout a Wayfinder Fanservice, that's entirely sheduled (sort of) and does involve R stuff and some popular Pathfinder gals ;)
*goes back to click "send and receive" on outlook*

We appreciate all the hard work everyone has put into this project. I know we may seem a bit impatient at times but I think we all know that this sort of thing requires a lot of hard work and we're getting some top notch talent from editors and artists. Go Wayfinder!

Hugo Solis wrote:Uh .... can we make suggestions? :POn Ashton's comment 'bout a Wayfinder Fanservice, that's entirely sheduled (sort of) and does involve R stuff and some popular Pathfinder gals ;)
Suggestions are indeed welcome. I'm certain someone's gonna do a piece or two with Merisiel and Seoni, since they're such fan favorites, so if you were worried they might not pop up, fear not.
But yeah, suggest away!
And as for Wayfinder #3, well... Wayfinder #2, from what I've seen, is indeed much better than Wayfinder #1. And from what I've heard being passed around from the powers that be, Wayfinder #3 is gonna be even better than Wayfinder #2. At this rate, we'll take over the entire gaming hobby as demi-dieties by PaizoCon 2012.
I'd tell y'all how we're planning on passing the Test of the Starstone, but you wouldn't understand the technical intricacies of it. Needless to say, it involves the righteous scepter of King Xerepenes, thirteen vials of universal solvent, a gun-wielding goblin whose name cannot be told but whose stories live on in infamy, a bagel, the tears Shelyn wept at the first sight of her possessed half-brother Zon-Kuthon, and a dozen dapper hats carved from the wood of the Casmaron silkwood tree.
Oh, and a mustache with glasses, for obvious reasons.

Well, an early thanks to those (Hugo, Lilith, Crystal...) who got this project going and for all their hard work.

Well, I for one appreciate all that you, Lilith, and all the rest have done for us with the Wayfinder mags! ~grimaces~ Sorry about not being able to contribute to Wayfinder #2. Perhaps I will be able to assist with Wayfinder # 3.
