A bunch more Adventure Path monster conversions have been posted. You can see them here.

Liberty's Edge

As the person doing the majority of these conversions, I thought I'd pop up and say "hi"!

So far I've only got some Legacy of Fire 1 & 2 critters, but the hope is that it won't take too long to get plenty of others up. If you have any specific requests, please go ahead and ask.

To explain the "skipping" of monsters, I'm waiting on the Bestiary and how it has (or has not) changed certain races or types. As soon as I've got that, I'll go back and fill in the blanks.

I'd also like to say that I would greatly appreciate some comments on these, because I'm sure that I will have made mistakes here and there. :)

Well, you did ask. Just looking at the Blast Shadow and the comments.

The BAB change is relative to the 3.5 version. It now progresses as a cleric, i.e. 2 points BAB/3 hit dice. So a 5HD creature would have a BAB of +3, 1 more than the 3.5 creature would have had.

EDIT:
The Blast Shadow itself has a Base Attack of +7. With it's claws, it has +12 (Bab+4 [Weapon Finesse] +1 [Weapon Focus]).

I can at least put the blame for that one on jreyst, because that's not one I converted... ;)

Thank you for looking, though.

Big time thank you to J and Alice for working on these!

Hi there :)

This looks great! Any chance of the RotR creatures showing up soon?

No problem. ^_^

Hi Krisam, thanks for the compliment!

As I said in this thread, I have the first chapter of RotRL done to beta, so it shouldn't be too difficult to fiddle them over through to the final rules and put them up.

Actually, I was looking for something to do between being an insomniac awake at 2:30AM, so this might be something fun to do for now. :)

Liberty's Edge

Got a couple of RotRL#1 beasties up tonight (sleepiness is starting to kick in, or else I'd do more):

Spoiler:
Goblin Warchanter, Goblin Commando, Tsuto Kaijitsu, Koruvus, and Gogmurt & Tangletooth.

Erylium is going to be a total headache so I'm putting her off for now. ;)

Alice and J, thank you so much for doing this. It will be a big help as I convert two of my campaigns from 3.5e to Pathfinder and update my third campaign from Beta to the final rules.

Liberty's Edge

Another thank you, for these conversions.

Oh sure, blame me. I see how it is. :)

Scarab Sages

I have converted some for the latter half of Hook Mountain and Fortress (and I'll be doing the rest of RotRL, eventually, if someone doesn't first). I know it's a wiki, but is it open for editing by Average Joe Gamer.

Scarab Sages

Hey, this is a great project and I just wanted to say "thanks".

I'm currently running my group through CotCT and we're using the Beta rules (so far), but I'm not doing much to update the critters; I modify their hp, feats, and sometimes a special ability (poison being the big one).

I'm definitely going to check our your work Alice and probably bookmark the page. :)

If you sign up on the d20pfsrd messageboards, and post your desire to start editing, I'm pretty sure jreyst will give you access to it!

And to everyone else, thank you very much for the compliments!

Oh yes, I'd be more than happy to get more people in converting monsters etc. The site is very easy to work with and I'd rather have all of the monsters in one place rather than have to hunt them down across multiple sites. Anyone who wants to get in and help just shoot me an email. All you need is a Google ID in order to work on the site.

I took a quick look at the doru you converted since that little bugger is mine and I’ve done a few PRPG monsters.

First thing I noticed is that your HD is incorrect. Outsiders get d10s, so the hp should be “16 (3d10)”.

I have the saves slightly different. Outsiders choose two “high saves” and I’d pick Ref and Fort, which would drop Wis by two.

Keeping in mind monster types have their own class skills, my skill conversion looks like this: Bluff +8, Fly +15, Knowledge (arcana) +2, Knowledge (planes) +4, Perception +7, Sense Motive +7, Spellcraft +3, Stealth +17.

Fun stuff!

Aha, see, this is (part of) why I am loathe to do some critters before the Bestiary comes out... I'm not touching anything undead with a 10 ft. pole until it releases. I didn't think the Outsider type would have changed, though! :)

Thanks especially for the clarification on monster types having class skills though. I have been SUSPECTING that, but couldn't find a specific proof in the data that is out as of yet.

I'll get over and fix that up. Thanks a bunch!

I, of course, could easily be wrong on some of those.

Hey Adam, I'd be more than happy to set you up in the system and you can edit or add whatever you like. I'd be tickled if you did actually :)

Today's critters:

RotRL#1:

LoF#3:

Many thanks to those doing the RotRL conversions; I'm getting ready to run this for the first time later this month, using PF rules.

We'll be posting the monsters from more recent AP's shortly. Another volunteer signed up just now to get those posted. Things are cruising along but don't let that stop anymore of you who might like to get involved. We have LOTS of things to do, from basic grunt work like updating errata, adding links, formatting pages, and many more tasks. We need help promoting the site, getting more people involved in helping work on it. We need more help adding cool features, basically just about anyone could assist if your time allows it. You don't have to be terribly technical, though we could use a few people who are too, as we'd like to continue providing some neat things.

Anyone out there familiar with creating Google Gadgets?

Anyone out there know of a link that should be added to the site?

Anyone out there have a tool they use all the time that deserves a link?

Please LET ME KNOW!

You can pop on over to the messageboards to tell me (or any other collaborator) what you have in mind.

Yes, yes, she is. Glad to have her as part of the team now!

Bolded because I messed up her gender on the d20pfsrd.com messageboard.

I'll repost exactly what I posted a few minutes ago on another thread:

On a side note, everyone who uses the converted monsters, please support Paizo by purchasing the associated modules. Obviously you couldn't run the adventure without the module but I know people have ways of getting around things so I want people to remember to support the people who make this all possible.

As for the monster conversions, don't thank me for the conversions from PF#1, that would be the work of Paizo board poster "Alice Margatroid" (aka Tanuki on the d20pfsrd.com messageboards). If you have specific requests feel free to pop over there and mention something, or at the very least, give her a high-five for her efforts. She's rockin out the conversions!

At this point these are the folks working on conversions:

  • Paizo user "Alice Margatroid" ('Tanuki' on d20pfsrd.com)
  • Paizo user "Nameless" ('Nameless' on d20pfsrd.com)
  • Paizo user "Tom Baumbach" ('The_Sultan' on d20pfsrd.com)

If you see any of them around be sure to thank them, not me. They're the ones doing the work :)

Edit: Oh, don't forget, if you notice a conversion error in any of the monsters, please post something on the d20pfsrd.com messageboards! Someone will get on there pretty darn quick to fix).

Liberty's Edge

Thanks everyone for all the praise. My ego is going to run away with me soon. ;)

I'd just like to note that for any critter that is not simply a human fighter 4 (or something of the sort that is made up of material only from the Core Rulebook) that their current stats can be seen as a kind of "beta". Once the Bestiary comes out I'll be definitely going over them a lot more closely and some minor (or even major) changes are likely to occur.

I'm a little busy at the moment but check back by the weekend for more RotRL and LoF conversions!
