Bleed

Rules Questions

So the wording of the Bleed condition seems to say that it only happens once, not continously, round to round. Didn't bleed used to be continuous until either the heal skill or magical healing was applied, and has this purposefully been changed?

Nope.. it remains the same. Once per round or until magical healing or a DC 15 heal check is applied.

I think the 2d6 points per round is murder though.

2d6? Where are you getting that from? The bleed condition just says "takes the listed amount of damage."

Oh, I reread the entry and realized how I got confused. It says "A creature who is takING bleed damage takes the listed amount of damage at the beginning of its turn." I thought it said "A creature who takES bleed damage..." Slight difference in how it's inferred that way.

Scarab Sages

One of the critical feats is 2d6 bleed dmg. which is brutal, but you don't get it til 11th level...and you must critical to access it. Rogues can do 6 bleed at 11th level, every time they hit with a sneak attack if they take the talent at level 2.

Yup.. my bad. I had that feat on my mind, when I was sqawking about bleed damage.

Liberty's Edge

We had 2 rogues in our playtest that both had bleed. What we noticed was at higher levels when the bleed is 4+ damage/rd was that it became rather pointless. By those levels the creatures rarely lasted more than a round or two after they were hit with the first bleed anyway.

Yes PC's get hit with it and they tend to last longer, but we noticed that with a positive channeler in the party it was rare to see PC's bleed more than a couple or rounds also. Now, we never saw a situation where there was no cleric, so that may be a bit scarier for a party, but somehow I doubt it. Healing in those levels is rarely hard to come by.

I just want to be sure of one thing.
A rogue, level 8 (with bleeding attack and creepling attack) can make two attacks per round, but :
- can he make, in one round, a bleeding attack (with his 1rst attack) AND a creepling attack (with his 2nd attack) ?

- And can he use his creepling attack EVERY round or can he use it only one time in a fight ? That's the same question concerning the bleeding attack ?

Yes

He can apply one effect every successful sneak attack. So if he hits three times in a round, he can cripple twice (-4 Str), and make the victim bleed.

Crippling stacks, bleeding doesn't stack so there is no point in bleed striking an enemy more than once, unless it manages to stop it's bleeding.

Edit: What Dilvish the Danged said above. Have to try and refresh more often. =)

"Talents marked with an asterisk add effects to a rogue's sneak attack. Only one of these talents can be applied to an individual attack and the decision must be made before the attack roll is made."

So yes Bleeding Attack on the 1st attack and Crippling Attack on his 2nd. Isn't being higher level fun. =)

The Sneak Attack Talents can be used when ever the rogue would apply Sneak Attack damage.
