What happened to the Traits in the Core Rulebook? Figured there would be a listing for them or are they waiting for the advanced rules book?
I think they're treating Traits as a Golarion-specific thing, so they're trying to draw a boundary between Pathfinder the RPG and Pathfinder Chronicles/Golarion campaign setting.

Yep. They are not meant to be a Core rule. Purely optional and so far, used to tie characters backstories to specific Adventure Paths - help to give a reason as to why the characters are adventuring. And I believe the basic pdf on them is available on your download page.

I'm sorry, not buying. If the Core book wasn't suppose to be Golarion-specific, then why are all the gods Golarion gods and why is the spin on gnomes tied into the concept of what gnomes are like in Golarion.
If you wanted it generic, then why aren't they generic God concepts.
Again, I want to point out that, yes there were specific Traits for each story arc, but in the Second Darkness companion, there was a list is Basic Traits if the characters didn't want to use the Campaign Traits. I think the traits are a great idea for defining your character and was hoping that they would be included in the Core book and even expanded on.
By excluding them, then it appears that you are left the concept behind for the new rule sets.
Can you at least explore adding them to the Advanced rule book coming out?

It would be wonderful if all the traits were consolidated into one handy list.
My group plays in the Eberron setting, but I can see how some of the Golarion specific traits could be brought over. Are there any resource websites out there that may have a list of all available traits?
You can find all the traits, with associated benefits and their source, in my Pathfinder Character Excelerator character sheet (you can find it at the Pathfnder Database site). Although this is intended as a character sheet and generator, it also contains separate tabs of every Open Game Content feat and trait in all Pathfinder material to date. There are 159 traits released at this point, assuming I haven't missed any. Just go to the Traits tab on the spreadsheet--you can even sort and filter by name, type, description, and source. I'll be updating these as new supplements come out (I pretty much subscribe to everything except the maps and cards).

Your welcome to both parties. Note that this is v.0.5 of the sheet and it is still under development (I'm adding in automation for class abilities now). I've got a separate thread here on the forums for discussing those updates. However, I'm not posting the interim versions up to the Pathfinder DB as I only want good, stable versions up there. I've also done a bit of tweaking to the older 3.5-compatible traits and feats as I saw incompatibilities with PFRPG. None of these changes are "official" but they made sense for me. If you happen to see something that doesn't work in the new system, or one of my changes that just doesn't look right, then I'm always open to feedback.
Thanks!

Why take up pages in a book you are going to purchase with something that is available as a FREE download? If you want the general traits, it's available for the 'price' of an account on this site. Easy peasy.
Edit: And here's the link for all the free goodness Paizo has listed for the RPG currently Free Stuff. The traits are there, all the basics, and updated for the RPG, as well.

Thanks erian! Can you please either unlock the spreadsheet or increase the height of the rows (of the trait tab)? I can't see the full description of some of the traits. Or if there's a way I can do it, I'd appreciate the help!

I lock the tabs just so I won't screw something up accidentally. They are not password-protected so you can remove the protection no problem (In Excel 2007, Protect Sheet is under the Review category. In earlier versions of Excel, it's under the Tools menu, then Protection).

I just tried using this character sheet and it is awesome! But I have a question or two:
When I created my first NPC (Ranger 1) all was going well until skills. There doesn;t seem to be any way to account for the +3 bonus for Class Skills.
Also, the Ranger Class abilites didn't list on the character sheet...

I don't know. Traits seem more of a game mechanic to me, not something tied to a world. To me that would be like saying Hit points is world specific thing.
Well, the specific campaign traits, regional traits, and to some extent the race traits are tied to Golarion.
Of course, the general stuff is perfectly usable in every setting you want.
The reason traits aren't in the core rulebook is because there probably wasn't enough room (something else would have had to go). So they're a free download instead. Like a web enhancement.
Makes sense, too, because they're optional. Standard stuff fits better in books. Optional stuff can be put in optional material.

Answering your question will depend on what version of the character sheet you have, as it's still under active development. However, in general the class skills will auto-populate so long as you have a race and class selected. The bonus from class skills will then pop in when you add at least one rank to the skill. Class ability automation was added in with version v.0.6, so if you've got an earlier copy that's why you're not seeing any ranger class abilities. I'm working on feat automation now and that will be covered fully in v.0.7.
Thanks!

Just chiming in, I like the traits and think they're useful for any campaign (I use them in my Ravenloft game). The free download is sufficient, but it is kind of weird that it wasn't even included in an "optional" section or something. Well, I guess there aren't enough pages for everything.
Exactly. The Pathfinder RPG didn't really have room for Traits. Also, they were sort of off Jason's radar until very late in the game, since they're not in the SRD but instead are something we made up here at Paizo.
I'm relatively certain they'll be in the Advanced Player's Guide at this point, though, and likely to have some official support for race, religion, and maybe even regional traits at the same time (rather than letting these three categories of traits be supported only by the Companion line of books). The race, region, and religion traits would have to be pretty generic though since the APG doesn't assume you're playing in Golarion or any other setting...
