Silver Crusade

I went to Barnes & Noble on my lunch break and flipped through the 4e Draconomicon II. It's b*+@$in'. I really like the new dragons.

First item is Calistrian, the second one is Caliean.

I like your second idea. With the right wording, it could come off very well.

And, like I know, I've done this two years in a row with nary a "RPG Superstar" tag. Flash might be a good person to run your ideas by.

Your iTunes burning preferences didn't change did they (still set to burn audio CDs and not MP3 or data discs)?

I don't see anything jumping out at me from Apple's suggestions.

What's too familiar about it? Is there such an item, or similiar, in the Golarion universe?

I did some math and the old thread averaged 6 posts per hour, this one only gets 5 per hour... I'm disapointed in you.

I'll have to look through my books. I could have sworn I've seen an item like this before. Maybe not in a Paizo product, but somewhere.

Or it could be one of those things that's just so obvious and cool that David's really struck gold.

I feel bad for peeing in the corn flakes.

I went in and set all of that before I started. Thanks for helping, Ambrosia. I feel dirty, but I have Windows Media Player successfully doing it.

Since there is an apparent ceiling to the number of posts, we're "savoring" this thread more.

David or Taig:

Maybe:
...the mug brews different "potions" based upon what it is filled with? (Human) Ale brews Heroism, Elven feywine brews "Elf's (Cat's) Grace", Dwarven Stout brews "Dwarf's (Bear's) Endurance," etc. Probably need to limit it to once or twice a day, maybe list specific Golarian beverages with results.

Imagine the fun a PC has trying different alcoholic beverages to create different potions. I'd name it... a Goblet of Ambrosia. :)

Edit: Taig, maybe you're thinking of the Tankard of the Drunken Hero in Gods & Magic?

Sorry for not spotting it. But if WMP burns a CD fine, then there isn't a background task or process in Windows screwing things up... points to either Quicktime or iTunes as the probable cause.

Sounds good. :) I just had Chicken Caesar sandwich on whole wheat with sweet potato chips and diet Cherry Dr. Pepper.

I am, once again, jealous of such wondrous lunch selections compared to my own.... ;)

I had fajita steak, corn and three bean salad.

Devlyn, Jack o' Nine Dales wrote:

I just used plain old deli-sliced chicken, spread a little Cardini's caesar on whole wheat bread, grated on a little Parmesan cheese, and added iceberg lettuce (out of romaine).

The chips are just thinly sliced raw sweet potato (on a mandolin), fried in a little canola oil, and sprinkled with salt. The hardest part is not losing any flesh on the infernal $^&*@! mandolin.

M'lady, that sounded awesome until you got to the okra part...stuff turns me like a Kelemvor priest turns undead(had to stick in the joke for a friend).

I had a sweet roll with Italian Wedding Soup for lunch today m'self...

If you don't like okra, you're not eating it fried!

Sure sounds that way, doesn't it? :)

Prepare for your TMI Moment of the Day as I dispel that feeding rumor (ahem):

Morning regimen is some Kelloggs Heart Smart Antioxidant cereal wolfed down quickly before I leave for work;

When I get to the office, the daily Red Bull is consumed (since they're still cheaper than caramel lattes from Panera - yum);

Lunch is a Power Bar (and usually a power nap as I get up at 5:15 every morning);

When I can afford them, 'at the desk' snacks are unsalted pistachios (but usually just trail mix);

Right before I leave work I down a Special K chocoloate protein shake to stave off ye olde hunger pangs;

And then I can actually eat a real meal for dinner.

Exciting, neh...? ;D

Water. Thankfully I have a PUR filter at home so I don't have to buy bottled all the time. Much savings :)

Are you dieting (if it's ok to ask)? Other than maybe the Red Bull (never had one), that's not much food or calories for a day.

TMI Quid Pro Quo:
My Dutch/German/French (not sure the Russian contributes or not) ancestry and Southern roots make me feel like I need to cook something hearty for you. :)

It may also be that I'm trying to eat light, so cooking big meals for others means I get to live vicariously through their eating. :)

I should be, but no, not officially. The Red Bull is the sugar-free version, and only has 10 cals.

Dinner's where I pile on the calories, unfortunately, and it needs to be the opposite. My manager also has a nasty habit of bringing in bad snacks like chocolate and donuts, so it's not all saintly eating here at the office, if that's what it sounds like. ;)

Biggest problem I have is not enough time in the morning to make a bigger breakfast, or not wanting to spend the $$ on grabbing something on the way.

Spoiler:
And don't worry about the hearty cooking - I promise I eat quite well in the evenings. Steak, pot roast, tilapia, chicken, 'mac & cheese golem', london broil, soups....I really need to shut up now and drink my shake! :D

At DMFreehold from the other thread:

Spoiler:
I thought that the days of me being manhandled for the needs of other's eggs was long over...seems I was wrong in ways I could never have predicted...

I have a Pur pitcher too, but I'm addicted to diet Dr. Pepper.

When I worked in an office, I had the same problems with the donuts and baked snacks too. But then I baked a pineapple upside-down cake once a month to bring in too.

Holy crap, I want a milkshake bad enough to almost literally kill for it. Thank goodness I have no ice cream in the apt.

Alrighty - now that my gastrointestinal gabbing has terminally gummed up this thread, I'd better run away and start the home commute. Traffic and rainy weather calls! Back in a few... :)

If not for certain agonies of the kidneys, I'd partake more of the Dr. Pepper goodness. Alas, soft drinks are forbidden fruit for me...

Sorry I stirred up bad cravings. I'll try curb that. :)

Now I'm going. Really. ;D

[Lebowski]That's a bummer, man.[/Lebowski] Still, even without kidney issues, it's a lot better for you to avoid sodas.

That's ok. We talked about lunch in front of you. Plus, I'd be craving a milkshake as soon as the next Steak-n-Shake commercial airs.

Ideas, I Need Ideas
~bangs head on wall~

Well, that was a lot to catch up on.

I got to spend my day dealing with kidlet stuff, and more to come tomorrow. We had the doctor appointment today, and the official diagnosis is ADHD. Got a prescription for Adderall and the requisite parental guilt to go along with that even though I know we've exhausted all other options. This is made just a bit worse knowing that genetically at least this actually is my fault. :/
And now the insurance company is making us jump through hoops to get the prescription approved. Tomorrow afternoon is the next meeting at Bryce's school. Hopefully they will be pleased that progress is being made, however slowly. And there may be more that they can do for him now that we have an official diagnosis.

At least it's progress. I hope the insurance company treats you better.

And most importantly...DON'T BLAME YOURSELF! :)

I am. I even have an idea for an item that I'm giddy about. Which means no one judging it will like it. :)

How about you?

I would like to run my item by you (and anyone else who wants to critique it) if that's OK.

OK, you really have to let that go - it's not your fault. You are an awesome mom, all-to-often going well beyond the call of duty to do the best by him. You have enough on your plate without adding unnecessary guilt to your burdens. Genetics is a crapshoot at best, and no one knows whether it really is genetics, some uncontrollable environmental variable, or just a random mutation.

Wishing you and him the very best outcomes in all of this. :)

Know how you feel. Just remember you tried everything else. I hope things work out for you guys. Thats the same stuff they have Kellen on, seems to work ok. Just make sure he eats a good breakfast, his appitite may diminish. And give it as early as possible, it messes with sleep schedule. Call later if you want. I am at work later, but you can call me there.

+1. I've got three ideas, but one is too mundane, one is goofy useful, and one is an artifact... not a winner amongst them.
