Solnes, hope your night improves and that you have a better day tomorrow. (hug)
Thanks, Lynora. How have things been going for you lately?
Better than last week. Busy, complicated, sometimes difficult. Looking for a job. Trying to get registered for college. Trying to work out the practical details of a lot of stuff. new therapist is much, much better than the last one, so that's definitely positive. That's the vague, condensed version anyways.

I'm glad to hear things are going vaguely better. :)
Good therapists are difficult to find.

The soup thing has me scared. We've got to talk him down.
And as to the NEVER...yeah, I was doing it as I posted. Now, there's only decaf coffee left.

I am very confused as to the soup issue. HOW in the world does someone do that? :)
Did you get my last message on FB? In your inbox?

I can see David now. He's stripped off his clothes and climbed on top of the broken van with the big sauce pan. Somebody, for the love of humanity, talk him down! He's raising a heaped wooden spoon to his nose. Dear God!!!

Home from work, but gotta go out again in 10 minutes. :/
My kids love Dirk & Krissin. :D
If I even suspected that they were bad parents I wouldn't let them entertain my kids while I am doing some quick Housework whenever we chat. There's no way they neglect their kids in any way and I agree with lynora: to say something like that to a parent without knowing the full picture is never a good idea. If someone told me I was being a bad parent I don't think I would have been anywhere near as polite about it as what Moorluck and Solnes were.
Sorry to bring it back up, but I missed everything while I was at work and as I was mentioned I thought I would say my piece.

This is my invisible post. It would be a shame if people missed it.

CB, I've spent a good amount of time talking with Solnes and Moorluck, and I can assure you there is no neglect going on with those kids. And what David said about reinforcing behaviors is absolutely correct. Sometimes kids need to test boundaries so they can figure out what they are. And that can be a very frustrating time for their parents. Please, stop and think before you throw around such serious accusations in the future. There is no surer way to piss off a good parent.
QFT. Raising kids these days is a tough thing, and blithely accusing someone of neglect when a kid acts up is a slap in the face to the parent who's trying to do the best they can. I know I almost punched out a coworker who assumed some things about me and my kids a few years back, and I am one of the most even-tempered people you would ever want to meet.
Moorluck, Solnes, keep plugging away. As I come to the end of the child-rearing phase of my life I look back on it like I do Basic Training: It was sometimes painful, sometimes terrifying, sometimes pure mental anguish, but I am damn glad I stuck it out and I am a better person because of it. Trying to raise good kids in today's distraction-rich media-circus environment is no easy task, I know. Cherish the moments of their youth, soon enough they'll be asking for the car and gas money :P
