Oh, and for those keeping score...
My wife's van stopped cranking yesterday. I've got the battery out for a test, but preliminary assessment says it's good. I'm hoping it's just the starter, which I can probably replace myelf...
Mate by a lottery ticket - with all the bad luck you are having, its got to turn around soon and the cosmic dice owe you some natural 20's so why not go for a win.... :-)

I mailed Erian sometime ago (before APG) saying I could make the spells database with all spells info (range, cast time, save, SR, etc) to add this in the sheet so casters would gain more independence from the book...
I have found that website above that has pretty much everything but still neeed to add to excel format...
I could help with that if you think its a good deal
I had approached Erian with an idea to have a basic data set that out sheets (and any others could use). The only basic data sheet that I compiled so far was the spells, but have yet to assign it to a google spreadsheet so that we can both keep it up to date. (I am also greatly challenged for time).
Anyways, if you download my sheet and un-hide Spells_DATA3, I suspect this may have all the info you are looking for. Let me know if this helps.

Is anyone else having problems with the magical knack trait?
It doesn't work for my Pal 1 / Sorc 1 since version 0.9.1 :-/
I'm using Excel 2007.
When I select the trait it just shows a #REF in the box under it and no arcane classes appear in the drow-down list to choose to which one does it apply... :-m

I know this has been fixed in 0.9.2, or it should be. Have you tried it there?

Just a friendly warning, but my computer suffered a trojan/virus/not nice programming.
this sheet here was one of the last things I downloaded beofre I had to reformat my pc.
I don't know for certain where I got it, but as I said this was one of the last.
Well I know that all the downloads of this sheet I have (at least 6) have been clean.

Hi,
first post to let you know that I really appreciate the effort that has gone into this and am willing to enter huge amounts of data if needed.
And I noticed that your in your DataCharacter sheet field D20 (AC_Natural) doesn't add the Alchemists Mutagen so just add
+SUM('Conditions and Effects'!V43:V45) to the beginning of your formula.
Cheers and thanks again.

V0.9.1:
I have a monk wearing a ring of jumping, and I'm trying to get all of his jump modifiers to appear under "COND MODS" for acrobatics (P-Front, CD60).
I've entered the formula:
=CONCATENATE("+", 5+Lvl_Mnk+((INT(MV_Land_P/10)-3)*4), " jump")
But it doesn't get evaluated, instead putting the text of the formula in the output. Using the Evaluate Formula provides the output "The cell currently being evaluated contains a constant".
Cutting and pasting the formula somewhere else (for example, Getting Started H50) makes it work exactly as expected, so the formula itself seems to be fine.
Is there some odd formatting applied to this cell that stops the formula from being evaluated? And if so, how can I remove it?
Thanks for your help.

I am not using the newest version of the sheet, so I am making a good guess in the dark.
If you are using the formating type of "Text" it will treat everything in the box as text and not evaluate anything. Copying and pasting content from another cell will copy the formating along with it. Generally, the default format is "General".
If you which the cell formating to "General", or really anything other then "Text" it should work with any custom formula. If that doesn't work, let me know and I will get the same version you have and double check it all.
Doctor Andonuts
Yeah, it's set to "general".
I opened a fresh copy of v9.1
Set my race to HumanSet the Active Sheet to Portrait
Set CD60 format to "General"
Copy the formula you posted
Paste the formula into the cell CD60
and I see +5 jump in the cell.
The only thing I can think of it make sure you set the format to general before you add the equation. If the formula is already there, remove it. Click off the cell, then go back and re paste it in.
I hope this helps you!

I'm a Mac user and was thrilled to find your sheet. Could I please get help from someone with one issue? I have a Cavalier, and I've selected the "Exotic Weapon Proficiency (bastard sword 1-handed)" as a feat. (She uses a shield in her off hand.) Under "Feat Settings" I have Bastard Sword (1-handed) also listed. However, when I go to the Front Page and enter Bastard Sword(1-handed) under Weapon Attack - and list "Wielded as" as One-handed- my attack stat shows up as a penalty: +6 instead of +9. I tried other weapons like a long sword 1-handed, or a two-handed bastard sword, and they all give me a +9 attack. Can someone who got this to work successfully please tell me what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks very much!

I finally figured this out. I was using parenthesis, when I should have been using brackets... "(1-handed)" instead of "[1-handed]". In the Feat Settings, the pull-down menu wasn't working for me for Exotic Weapons, so I typed in my own. The formatting I used didn't match the weapon pull-down list on the Weapon Attack on the Front Page. Hmmm... why don't I get any pulldown menu? I get the double arrow indicating one, but nothing shows when I click on it.

There's a problem with the weapon proficiencies, which aren't displaying properly on the abilities tab. Maybe this has already been noted, but I just spotted it.
OS: Win XP
Spread Sheet: Excel 2010
Version: 0.9.2
Tab: Abilities & Feats
Specific issue: Weapon proficiencies aren't showing up.
Steps to reproduce: Choose a class with specific weapon proficiencies in the getting started tab. I noted the Weapon_Prof_Other field in the Data Classes tab is labeled "inconsistent formula" by Excel.

I just noticed a couple small calculation problems with the sheet.
1. The Dragon Disciple natural armour bonus increases are at level 1, 4 and 7 but the sheet awards them at 1,3,5,7 and 9.
2. The primary natural attack gives -1/+3 when using power attack whereas the primary natural attack (STRx1.5) only gives -1/+2. I believe these are supposed to be switched.

I'm very excited about this sheet, and would love to have a forum where we can categorize our replies by suggestions, bug reports, help questions, etc...
Unless I'm doing something wrong (which may be likely), I think the "Lance" as a weapon needs adjusting. Per the rules, it can be used one handed if on horseback. However, even if I select "Mounted" as a combat option under "Weapons and Attacks" on the front sheet, it still says "Must wield two-handed" when I select one-hand as an option. Of course, I can't just type in two-handed to make it happy, because then it increases my strength damage.
Thank you for creating this sheet!

Error: Track and Trapfinding on the Portrait sheet.
OS: Win XP
Spread Sheet: Excel 2010
Version: 0.9.2
Tab: Portrait
Specific issue: Track and Trapfinding extra skills aren't calculated
Steps to reproduce: Select Tracking and/or Trapfinding from the dropdown menu in the skills section. Excel throws a "Value Not Available" error. Landscape sheet works as intended.

I have sent a slightly revised sheet to Erian to post, it fixes the Magical Knack issue.
I will, once he confirms posting the new version, tackle the other bigs in this thread posted since October 27th. Erian may hold off a new release until I get those bug fixes worked in.
Erian and I are both working on the data entry side of getting the alternate class abilities put in, then he's got some work to do on the Getting Started tab.

Hmmm... why don't I get any pulldown menu? I get the double arrow indicating one, but nothing shows when I click on it.
I sometimes lose all pulldowns in the Windows version when there is an interrupted save of the file to a networked or USB connected drive.
Unfortunately, once this happens, I have no idea how to fix it short of re-doing the data entry for the character sheet(s) affected.
My suggestion is to download a clean copy of the sheet and then make sure that you're getting drop downs in all the right places - if you are, make sure you're on your local disk drive and re-do the data entry.
This problem went away after I stopped trying to keep an 'open' copy of the sheet on my thumb drive.

I have the following issues in my log file to fix:
A) Dragon Disciple gives natural armor bonuses at levels 1,3,5,7,9 rather than 1,4,7
B) Power attack and primary natural attack appear to have their bonuses and penalties switched (I need a bit more to go on on this one.)
C) Trapfinding and Track are not being calculated in the Portrait tab. Question for Zo (the reporter): Is cell Getting Started!H4 set to Portrait or Landscape? Does the problem persist if you switch it to Portrait?
D) Abilities & Feats - specific weapon proficiencies not showing up. (I'll look into this - does it work on an older version of the sheet?)
E) Information on Alchemist Mutagen not adding to cumulative tally of Natural Armors not working; fix presented. (Need to check to make sure that all things adding to natural armor are listed)
F) Monk and ring of jumping isn't appearing in conditional mods on the portrait sheet. Was the drop down on Getting Started set to Portrait, and does changing that make this work properly?
General Note: The selector for Landscape and Portrait is very very important. It's evaluated early in the process by the spreadsheet; if something doesn't work on the Portrait sheet and does on the Landscape sheet, the very first thing to check is that selector. :)
(Personally, I find the landscape sheet so much more usable that I tend to forget the Portrait sheet is there.)

Erian,
Thanks for all the hard work on the sheet. I spent time adding a way to import and export characters to version 0.91, and it helps for those who like small character files. The only drawback is the need to remap if I upgrade. I did some overhauling of the spell sheet and magic items as well, but I'm trying to maximize its usefulness.
Tem
B) Power attack and primary natural attack appear to have their bonuses and penalties switched (I need a bit more to go on on this one.)
I found this one. Under the "Wielded as?" field you have the option between "Primary Natural" or "Primary Nat. (1.5xSTR)". If you select the former then apply the power attack option it calculates based on -1 to attack and +3 to damage. Likewise, if you select the latter and apply the power attack option, it calculates based on -1 to attack and +2 to damage. Clearly, these should be reveresed so that the attacks that normally gain STRx1.5 are the ones that get -1/+3.

Howdy all..not dead, just hibernating to regain some strength!
I've cleared several of the major "life" challenges that have been on the plate for a while, so am still hopeful that my gaming hobby will come back around for attention soon.
One note for future development...It looks like I'll be jumping into the tablet PC universe with a Notion Ink ADAM. As the ADAM has native support for Excel files, one thing I'll definitely be looking at is if this sheet could work there. Specific details on the overall Excel support is not available yet, but I'm supposed to have mine in-hand mid-January or so. I'll be evaluating the functions supported, as well as the overall screen layout. My thinking is that with my focus on compatibility it should remain fairly usable and hopefully only need minor tweaks. Plus any optimization I do to support the tablet will likely help overall compatibility. So, for the tablet folks out there I'd definitely like any thoughts...
And there it is. Not dead, though not as alive as I'd like as yet. I wouldn't even say "mostly dead" unless it will get me some chocolate.
Thanks for all those that continue to believe despite the delays!

Anyone happen to know if there is anyone working on adding the advanced players guide to this sheet? I'd like to use the sheet for my invulnerable rager (barbarian) but I can't figure out how to add the abilities and such to the sheet.
Erian, be sure to let us know how you like the NI Adam. I am considering getting one myself.

Count me in as another one interested in what the NI Adam has to offer. I know they've had a whole PR debacle of late, bu I'm hoping the finished product is as fantastic as it seems like it can be.

My apologies on this as well.
I got hit with deadlines with lots of very sharp teeth that bit deep, and never quite got to the point where I could do some of Erian's data entry.
I still have the bug list - and perhaps after I clear something off my plate, I can start doing recreational abuses of Excel again.

That is coming, I understand. But in the meantime it is possible to tweak the sheet to reflect a specific build; I did it for my Zen Archer monk.
The bulk of the work is on the ClassAbilities tab. Find the class ability you lose, and replace the name and description with what you get in its place. That can get more complicated than I've made it sound, especially when you have abilities that vary with your level. Invulnerable Rager looks like being pretty simple to change; I don't think there's anything more you'll need to do than that.

Two other glitches, learned while making a Shadowdancer Archer NPC:
1) ShadowDancer levels are not accounted for in the List_Rogue_Talents area, column C on the table. It looks like replacing =AND(Lvl_Rog>1,D5=FALSE) with =AND(OR(Lvl_ShadDance>3,Lvl_Rog>1),D5=FALSE)
will fix this. (And that's a pretty clever use of SMALL and ROW in there.)
2) Improved Critical [Longbow] and Improved Critical [Shortbow] are not grabbing the names from Composite Longbow and Shortbow - the code chunk in X41 does pull up the relevant bits, so I imagine something analogous can be done for AD41, though I havn't quite untangled that code to give you a cut and paste solution.

Hey guys, it looks like I'm back in action! I've rebuilt the way racial traits work in the sheet, so it will now be very easy to add the alternate racial traits. I'm also rebuilding several of the general data tabs in the process, as my overall skill at processing data has advanced considerably since those were originally conceived. So, once the alternate racial traits from the APG are in place, I'll be releasing v.0.9.3. At this time, I expect that will be next week some time as I go through the data entry and then the automation process.
erian_7
ROCKSTAR!
Does this mean you have your new tablet? is it as good as people hope?
Nope, not yet. I'm still eagerly waiting!
And for all the tweakers out there, the new data approach I'm taking should make you happy. I'm minimizing forumla use inside the data tables as much as possible, so adding/changing things should be much easier. I've also taken some advice from earlier (sorry I can't credit you right now!) on pulling together text blocks from data like the racial traits, feats, etc. that should eliminate the need for huge concatenated blocks. The upside there is the new approach should automatically catch additions without having to go and add new concatenation references.
erian_7
I am looking forward to this.
Can you explain the new text block trick?
Sure...
I actually got to thinking about how the dynamic list selection was working, and modified it to build text blocks. So, I start by building a list (L_Racial_Traits_Summary) with formula like this for each racial trait:
=IF(ISNUMBER(FIND(A305,Race_Traits)),"• "&A305&": "&B305,"")
=IF(C305="","",ROW())
=SMALL($D$107:$D$309,ROW()-ROW($E$106))
=IF(ISNUMBER(E305),INDIRECT("C"&E305),0)
=COUNTA(L_Racial_Traits_Summary)-COUNT(L_Racial_Traits_Summary)
=IF(A312<1,"",INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,1))&IF(A312<2,"","
"&INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,2))&IF(A312<3,"","
"&INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,3))&IF(A312<4,"","
"&INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,4))&IF(A312<5,"","
"&INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,5))&IF(A312<6,"","
"&INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,6))&IF(A312<7,"","
"&INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,7))&IF(A312<8,"","
"&INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,8))&IF(A312<9,"","
"&INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,9))&IF(A312<10,"","
"&INDEX(L_Racial_Traits_Summary,10))
I should be able to do the same for the class abilities, feats, etc. so I no longer need those huge =A1&B1&C1&D1 to infinity formulas. It'll be a bit trickier figuring out the right number of text lines to add for, say, class features, but I figure a reasonable limit of 50 or so should do.
And yes, I'm up real freakin' late/early--baby's got a nasty cold and wakes up every hour or so...
