I've not played a pbp here at Paizo, so I'll need a little help to move forward. Can you tell me what we need and what I need to do to do it? (sentences in this post do not necessarily reflect the skill level of poster)
Well first off to generate your character, do you have the hackmaster basic rulebook or do you need a link to the site to download the quick start rules?
I can hunt up the link or as I have the book can go over the character generation if you want.
I use an online die roller for die rolling purposes when I first started I rolled them normally since I couldn't get Invisible Castle to work but you can ask the dm to roll on your behalf if getting access to an online die roller becomes difficult.

Hey, thanks for the info. I've got the book. I've got a die roller with Hero Lab, but, if it needs to be on-line with a link for the dm (to verify my truthiness), could you supply a link to the die roller you mentioned?
I can play whatever class the dice dictate or the party needs.--I've never played Hackmaster--though I've been reading the rules / comic for the last several years.

Rizzenmagus, can we olease have a post from you, just to indicate that you're still willing to run the game?
He's probably waiting for the rest of us to get our characters statted; in this case, I'll go with a Human Mage as my character (what the heck, already got two mage characters in two different pbp games, might as well go for the third try); Like Sublimity and Fredrick, I've also have the HMB book.
In any case, two things that might prove to be helpful for the others as it was for me, are these fan-made stuff for Hackmaster Basic; one is a character creation primer, of sorts, and the other has important stats listed that everyone will need- they can be found here and here.

use the quick start rules found at the front of the book or at the kenzerco web site... should make it alot easier to rule up a char and everyone will have the same starting options.

I was using the regular creation rules. . .I'll start over with the quickstart. I did use invisible castle online roller (I included the links in the "spoiler" part. I didn't realize I had to roll 7 stats, hence the additional link for charisma. I'll redo the character and post him after I've eaten my dinner.

Thanks for the spell info. . .I've got the book; I just wasn't sure if they had changed the rules for Clerical spells among the other changes that Hackmaster Basic has instituted.

When will you lay the ground rules? Should we expect to post X times a week? Will the party be meeting in the "old traditional way" (i.e., a tavern)? As I mentioned somewhere in this thread, I am a noob as far as Paizo PBP is concerned. I did a stint over at RPol.net, but never in a Forum based environment.

hey guys, getting ready to post the first... posting for the campaign.
eoleo has a good point. should set up some ground rules...
1) id like to see a post everyday. that said, i understand that people have lives and like to do stuff on the weekend, so it probabbly will be slow on saturdays and sundays. so i hope that when the weekend hits, we all will put a big enough post to cover events for the weekend that you may think will occur ie "if we get attacked, i do this. if i we have to talk to person x, y, & z to get the info, i lay into x with the flat of my blade until he squeals like a pig." you get the idea.
2) the first post will have the introduction of the characters...
3) just have fun with this. this is my first time GM'ing the hallowed HACKMASTER RPG, and i hope have some fun wiht this...
4) CHARACTER DEATH WILL HAPPEN. its a cruel sadistic world that you are adventuring in. let the dice lie. if you die, think about how you died and how your next character wont do the same mistake.
5) when talking, use the bold feature so that i know you are saying something. use plain text when talking about character actions, and use the out of character when making funny remarks in game.
