On June 20, 2009—this year's Free RPG Day—Paizo will be giving away the Pathfinder RPG: Bonus Bestiary, the first official product using the finished Pathfinder Roleplaying Game rules.
This 16-page product will be available for free at retailers participating in Free RPG Day, while supplies last. A free PDF and a limited number of copies of the print edition of this product will be available for sale exclusively on paizo.com after Free RPG Day 2009 concludes.
The Bonus Bestiary includes more than a dozen monsters that won't be in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Bestiary due in September.
Also, unlike most of our newly announced products, this one shows the actual finished cover!

Must have! I just need to find my closest store... i sense I'll be going to either NYC or Boston for this one.
If last year is any indication, there were 3-4 stores around Boston area doing it.
It's somewhat pricey for stores to participate, I know it was over $150 last year (don't remember the actual amount though) compared to free comic book day that is like $50 and brings in as many if not more people, which is why many stores around us don't do it. Personally, I think the company should offer various amounts of products at different prices for the store.

Vic,
What's the quickest way to get a copy of this bonus bestiary? should I be working with my FLGS on this?
1) find a FLGS who is willing to sign up for Free RPG day.
2)on said free RPG day, be one of the first 10 people (as a gold endorser, there will be 10 of theses in each Free RPG day kit)

Does this mean that Allips and Shadow Mastiffs didn't make the bestiary?
Yup. There's a bit more that didn't make it into the Bestiary as well, but that's necessary. We can't fit ALL of the monsters from the 3.5 SRD in there, especially since there are important monsters that we wanted to include in the Bestiary that AREN'T in the SRD but are key for Pathfinder RPG.
We DID fit a lot in there, thoguh. Where we tended to trim from the SRD was from monsters that were just introduced into the game in 3rd edition (hence the Allip) or where a monster had a VERY similar role to one that DID make it into the hardcover (shadow mastiffs and yeth hounds are pretty similar... one's in the bestiary and one's in the bonus bestiary). And on top of that, the 13 monsters in the Bonus Bestiary are ones that COULD have been in the hardcover, if we only had 13 more pages.
I'm pretty satisfied with the spread of monsters we got into the hardcover, though. And the game's going to be compatible with 3.5 anyway, so monsters we haven't updated yet are still completely usable in the game. I fully expect and intend to be using monsters from the SRD and other 3.5 sources in Pathfinder as we need them.

The Kobold King stuff is over. Think of it as the "3.5 Module arc" if you will. We're moving on to different regions with Pathfinder RPG.
Bah, that dungeon had more legs to it! But ok..

Will it later be available as a free PDF as usual?
I hope one of the stores in my city will participate (yes, I said stores: There's two stores with RPG material in this city, which has become my city recently*. And there's another store not too far away).
If not, I'll probably try to get one of the copies from the store.
*Not really "my" city (yet), but more the city I live in.

There'll be ways to get a copy of the Bonus Bestiary after Free RPG day... those methods may or may not be free. I'm not sure yet.

Close... each store may purchase more than one kit, so stores that buy two kits will have 20 copies, three kits gets them 30 copies, and so on.

Starting the Monday after Free RPG Day, we'll have a PDF available for free, and a limited quantity of print copies available for $5. (We expect to have several months' worth, so you probably shouldn't knock yourself out trying to get one.)

I thought the Bestiary was coming out in July?

*nods*
Paizo knows after D0 and D1.5 how many they need to keep around for the website. Don't worry guys.
To be honest, while we know how many of a Free RPG Day Pathfinder Module we need to keep around, a Free RPG Day Pathfinder RPG product is a new animal. We expect demand to be a lot higher, so we're printing a lot more... but who knows?

1. What is the cost of a kit; and
2. How does a FLGS go about ordering a kit?
Any help will be appreciated!
Best regards,

Head to freerpgday.com to find out more about the program. (I don't think they've announced kit prices yet, though.)
