New Stat Block Template

General Discussion (Prerelease)

Dark Archive

Is there any way you could provide a text file for what fields go into a Pathfinder RPG stat block. I can look at examples in Council of Thieves Adventure Path and see XP, CMB, CMD, etc but I'd like some kind of document that spells it out.
You have done this in the past for Dungeon Magazine submissions and it helps me having it all in one spot instead of looking at many stat blocks to get the general rules.

Thanks

I would like to second this request. Having access tot he standard layout makes design much easier.

I would also like to see this.

This would be handy. Although I'm guessing this will be covered in the Bestiary out in September, it would still be nice to have it early. I've already made a MS Word sheet for my own use for printing out stat cards and it would be nice to be able to check and make sure I got all the relavent parts right. I like to have individual cards for all the mobs that are likely to be fought when I run a campaign or a PFS game. I made mine to get 6 different cards from a regular size piece of paper, so slightly bigger than a regular index card in some dimensions.

It's generally considered a bad idea to ever bump anything on the boards. The Paizonians work from the bottom of the list up to the top.

Agreed ... plus if you do you should at least wait a week, or better yet a month rather than a day.

I'm a newb to message boards. What does bumping do?

Bumping means posting a reply to a thread for the sole purpose of pushing it to the top of the "recent threads" list. Usually, such a post consists of just the word "bump" or some variation thereof.

The Bestiary will have a detailed explanation of all the elements of the stat block. As for a "blank" version of it... there MIGHT be something like that in the Pathfinder Scenario writer's guidelines, but I'm not sure they're updated yet off the top of my head.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I have a starter template in both Microsoft Word and Open Office Writer(note Microsoft word doesn't have over-lining so the section dividers are only underlined in the MS word document. I suggest using Open Office also due to easy pdf export.)
