And the very Heavens will Burn ...

Wow

That is all.

Nice, very nice.

Just from the description, it sounds packed with information. Sounds like a good one.

Dude, I am GIDDY about how this book has turned out. Really, couldn't be more pleased. Sarah got some really amazing art, Sean, Sutter, and Chris did a fantastic job making my words make sense, and the whole look of the thing is really going to make folks take a second glance at not just devils in RPGs but the whole Pathfinder Chronicles line. Just wait till you see the cover!

As long as it's not WoW! ;)

Wes, my hatred for you grows stronger with each passing day. I will unleash this hatred at GenCon by FORCING you to sign any item I can find in your booth with your name on it. Consider this your warning!

So, the "F" in your name actually stands for "Fiend", doesn't it?

Little-a column A, little-a column B. :P

Fiendish! It all makes sense now!

I think by "giddy" you mean "darkly delighted".

Though, of course, some guy being giddy while talking about the darkest atrocities is its very own category of evil.

Anyway, I shall draw a protection circle around my computer henceforth before posting here. Since it's a computer, I'll use heat-conductive paste. From the company Pabst!

Fair enough! I'll be there all four days, so you'll know where to find me!

By the by, the scene in today's blog is the opener to the Diablere chapter, depicting levalochs putting down rowdy souls in Malebolgia as they try to escape their assigned bolgia. The citadel at the heart of the fortress plane, Melqart Keep - home of the archdevil Mammon, General of Hell and so-called God of Fire - looms large in the distance (though still untold miles away).

Dude. The interior cover features a giant pentagram within a larger complex rune displaying more than a dozen symbols representative of some of the most powerful rulers of Hell... and Sarah make the whole think look like it's scorched into pallid flesh.

Yeah. GIDDY.

The anti-role-players are going to have a parade when they see this...

If Hell is (in Golarion's multiverse) the 'ultimate place of evil' does this mean that in the same setting paladins are no longer the ultimate expression of mortal goodness, since they are not Chaotic Good aligned (the opposite alignment and outlook of Lawful Evil)?

Unholy S+%!E, Wes. This looks AWESOME! Congrats!

Well, I did not hear or see anything like it when White Wolf published Demon:the Fallen about 5 or 6 years back, nor about the Book of Vile Darkness - I don´t think that it will be much of an outcry at all. I think militant anti-roleplayers are pretty much a thing of the past, apart from a few lone examples.

Yeah. GIDDY.

Gonna get that one and have it printed on a t-shirt }:-)

So? We'll rain on their parade.

BOILING RAIN OF FIRE AND BRIMSTONE!

It's one ultimate place of evil. There are several.

Or they ran afoul of some real satanic roleplayers, who ironically couldn't separate roleplaying from real life and sacrificed them on a dark alter in some steam tunnel (apparently every steam tunnel has at least one of those).

Let's hope those roleplayers weren't dyslexic to boot...

Still giddy from the branding session, eh?

There were some protesters at GenCon that year... They were just plants hired by White Wolf, though, not real morally outraged "won't somebody think of the children" uber-Christians who give the faith a bad name.

I guess we have to thank Harry Potter for that.

I wonder why no one has complained about WoW yet.

Levalochs look cool!

I'm not sure those folks really exist any more, and if they do, they've really got bigger fishes to fry what with games like Dante's Inferno and (shudder) Harry Potter. Targeting RPGs as the expression of infernal will in the world: how 80's.

QFT.

Some folks predict the doom of western civilisation whenever something gains popularity that does not fit into their narrow concept of "how the world should be". Funny they never seem to be bothered about, say, unbridled capitalism, war, hunger, denial of human rights or similar problems.

Very cool I have been looking forward to this book since I first seen it announced.

Silver Crusade

I'm sad that I didn't get to start the thread. I was totally going to title it "AW HELL NAW!!!" :(

That big spread of the damned trying to conquer the Aggro Crag has me eager to see the final book. But it is going to be mostly about the devils rather than Hell itself, right? So I shouldn't be too eager to see details about that plane's petitioners and what activities keep them busy?

And dude, I'm giddy to see just how it did. I seriously cannot wait to see how you expanded upon the groundwork I did, what you added, what you elaborated upon, etc etc. Admittedly, I have a few pet concepts from TGB I'm hoping that you might have had your way with, just because that would be awesome. :D

Wow. I want that book NOW. I also want THAT Asmo available as an avatar...

Wow. I'll be ready for that book (looks in empty wallet), in 2 weeks...

Both Dispater and the Malebolge are looking awesome. I eagerly look forward to this book coming out.

You do mean that that's Moloch's palace, not Mammon's, right?

I used the mind control spell on my father to make him buy this book!

Damnit, now I can't unthink that they're trying to claim a piece of that radical rock. Curse you, childhood television!

Huh? What is this about?

All I know is that when I hear/read Aggro Crag, I think it sounds like something WoW players come up to describe, say, something where a tank hides in a narrow space (where enemies cannot reach) and draws aggro by attacking with a reach weapon. Or something.

Dark Archive

It's from a show that used to be on Nickelodeon called GUTS.

EDIT::

Damn got to get out more I saw this and thought he was going for the whole "role players" versus "roll players" thing. Right off to watch firefly.

Another, and some might argue more objective, take on the subject.

Ayup. Mammon is on level 3 - dishware, fine washables, and endless darkness.
