I am getting ready to run an adventure for the first time in close to two years. I have been planning this campaign on and off for close to ten years. One of the players in the group has not played since Second Edition, and I want this to be good.
I have used minis for several years now and plan to use them again. Here is where the problems start. I need a two minis to represent a couple of dead npcs. One of them is your average everyday laborer, and the other is his boss. The boss needs to be a little better dressed.
I know this is a tall order, but I have faith in the community.
HELP PLEASE!!
Thanks

I seem to remember seeing some Games Workshop miniatures that were of dead minis. Seems to me they were Brettonians, laying on their face or back in various poses of disarray. May not be exactly what you are looking for, but a good coat of paint might do wonders.... You could try looking there.

Can't seem to find them. . . , but I think I know what you are talking about. Anyone else know of any or how to find the ones mentioned?

Why can't you just lay something like the reaper miniatures on their back?
When you go through the ordeal of making a accurate representation of the scene you are trying to play out, with dioramic quality, you don't want to just throw a miniature down on its back.
There are minis out there where the are only halves so they lay flat. That is what I have been looking for.

Enigma's "Human Corpse" looks promising.
I have a few corpses that I picked up years ago (Grenadier Minis, IIRC), but I couldn't find them available while looking on-line. Reaper offers a couple of heavily-armored corpses (Look up "corpse" in their figure finder), but those don't seem to be quite what you're looking for.
If I wanted to make some bodies, I'd pick up some Games Workshop "bits" and modify them, cutting and repositioning limbs to serve as sprawled human remains. Promising models include "Empire Militia". Their "Vampire Counts Zombie Horde" might also provide a few dead-looking bits.

You are talking about "Casualties" figurines from the specialist game Mordheim. Unfortunately I can't find them on the Games Workshop site and I imagine they are out of print (GW does not support their specialist games much), but you might be able to find someone who can sell them in bitz.
Reaper also has a few things that might suit (edit: which I realize was already mentioned in the post above mine). Here's one dead body... perhaps too well armored for your purposes, but may work: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/casualty/latest/14541#detail/14541_w_1
If all else fails, buy a "normal" townsfolk figurine, cut off the base, and use needlenose pliers (pad them with a little tape or rubber band if need be) to twist their limbs into a "sprawled on the ground" position. Place them face down on the table so you don't have to worry about goofy facial expressions (or just assume they died with a goofy expression on their face. If you need to flatten the part that touches the ground, just go at it with a file.
