My only quibble, and it is a minor one (I'd say about CR 2), is that Team Peregrine could have used a little more foreshadowing. I'll forgive Burlew, however, because it all makes sense and because of the Mordor-rific landscape shot in the last frame.
Could you explain it? The elves seem kind of sudden.

Well, it makes sense to me because Azure City would reasonably have contact with a number of other adventuring parties; just as it has a relation with the Order of the Stick. But I think it's more than that; rather than just some random adventurers with a history of friendly interactions with the city, I get the distinct impression this is a squad of elven commandos operating under a government/military mandate. It makes sense that Azure City, being good, would be allies with the elves, who are also good (remember that OotS relies on convention as much as it plays with it, so unless otherwise notified, we can safely assume the elves are, indeed, good). They are ancient, and slow to mobilize for war; but when they do, they are powerful. At least, that's the vibe I'm getting from the strip. I agree; they do seem a little sudden, which is my quibble. They could have used more foreshadowing. But it does ultimately make sense, so it works. And it's long been Rich's tradition to solve problems in completely logical, but totally unexpected, ways; this certainly qualifies.

But I'll bet the Linear Guild makes short hash of them.
Except the Fiends are sending the Linear twerps after Girard's (sp?) Gate right now as well-see #668.
