Ok, I do not know if this has been answered before but I cannot seem to find an answer.
Seeing as you can't speak in wild shape how do you communicate with your party?
Any ideas?
Well in the case we recently had (where the drudi had shapeshifed into a Bird to do some scouting on a boat trip in savage tides).
Party asks druid question, nod once for yes, nod twice for no.
Party then asks how many boats....
Druid raises one of his feet to bring it down x times.
Mean DM makes druid/bird make dex check not to fall off rail when only using one foot for balance.....

• Communicate with animal spell
• Telepathy (through a pseudodragon familiar, helm of telepathy, detect thoughts, etc)
• 20 questions
• Chirp, growl, meow, bark, tail wag.
• Make multiple parties take one skill point in Liguistics: Language learned? Morse code, or medieval equivalent
• Many birds have the vocal capacity to speak (but will suffer stealth penalties at times... bright red/green/gold bird in a mountainous region, for example
• Body language, humans do it, barring animal limitations, of course
o Head nod = Yes (any animal)
o Head shake = No (any animal)
o Head tilt = I don't know (any animal)
o Head tilt, eyes wide = Are you daft? (predatory animals)
o Head tilt, eyes looking away = Let me think (predatory animals)
o Head half roll, while tilting head = Follow me / Get over here (any animal)
o Running away at 200'/rd = What, you idiots are still here?

Don't forget the Three Stooges' animal classic...
o Use tail like an index finger, usually to gesture WAIT or FOLLOW.
And one of my favorites...
o A 'Flaming Sphere' is rolling over creatures/ojects = Attack HERE!
o Head tilt, eyes wide = Are you daft? (predatory animals)
I could see this working for most animals, generally requires a neck to get the full effect though, other animals would just have to [b]'stare blankly and give the double blink'/[b]. Heh, for some reason I picture a Giant Crab doing this one... *blink blink... throws claws up in frustration*
