The last few conventions I’ve been to I didn’t recognize someone in meatspace that I’ve been holding conversations with here for years. The badges have our real names on them, but it would be really helpful for all of us to better identify each other at GenCon if we found some way to modify the badge, wear a name tag or some other way to let the rest of us Paizo messageboarders know each other’s handle. Tape and marker, stickers, a printed picture of your avatar, custom t-shirts, disturbing cosplay…whatever.
Nothing like some recognizable stories and friendly faces to make a crazy huge crowd seem much more familiar.

OT: I think the word meatspace is an odd one, even though it is already in the Oxford dictionary. I just don´t like the sound of it. It seems similar to collateral damage to me. /OT

See I know where Daigle is coming from, as we played Frozen Fingers together at GenCon last year. I think I was actually semi intelligent enough to sharpie in deathboy on my GenCon name badge.
I think this year I may do a separate tag, or maybe have kristov do it for me, as I am storing my energy for the Pathfinder Rules to get into my grubby hand so I can cram as much rules info into my skull before trekking out to Indy.

Identifying ourselves at PaizoCon was easy because a screenname written on a nametag was automatically associated with this board and this community. I imagine that people on other boards will be thinking the same thing and that we'll see a lot of people with screennames on nametags and/or badges. That isn't even considering people who have different screennames in different places. Whatever we do should be distinctive and unique to Paizo.com so we can instantly see one of our brethren across a crowded room.

I played around with Publisher 2007 and came up with this:
Great name tags, but I'm with Russ.
Anonymity is for suckers. . . . Till you say something that makes someone mad and they hack your computer and 'splode it from the inside.
. . . on second thought I think I might change my s/n.
See you folks at the Con. Woot!

Running slots on Thursday and Friday, as well as being part of the big conversion and character creation slot on Thursday morning. (Bright and early!) You should be able to recognize me, since I'm likely to be the only guy in the HQ room wearing extremely loud Hawaiian shirts. Oh, and I always sign my posts with my real name, so you could always check that. XD

I'll be playing my two characters in the four scenarios premiering and the Betrayals. I've got a low level half-orc monk for the 29-30 and a higher level elf rogue for 31-32.

It was nice to meet so many people from the boards in person.
I'm not a frequent poster, but I might be more of one now...
Thanks Dragnmoon for the help w/ Character Conversion on Thursday. We ran into each other a few more times over the weekend, but never shared a game.
Had a memorable game w/ Deathboy in Devil We Know #1... I was the guy w/ the Cheliaxian Priest of Asmodeus who failed every attempt to Command Undead.
Overall, a great time... never shared a table with a player I couldn't get along with.
