How to Use your Followers!

General Discussion (Prerelease)

Hello everyone!

My character has finally gotten to the level where I get my Thrall (Psion/Thrallherd), and now I get to think about what to do with my believers!

I have a few ideas about what to do with them, but I'm curious if anyone else has some ingenious ideas. If you do, please let us all know!

Mind you I'm talking about the class Thrallherd, and not technically followers. However, discussion on both is fine!

Thanks!

I took a couple of psions and wizards and had them make magic items to sell. Started up my own completely loyal merchant house.

Yeah, I thought about that, too.

My first idea was to have a few psions and clerics. I could use the clerics to stone shape and make buildings, or whatnot, and the psions to help create items and sell stuff through a merchant stall.

I plan to have a mobile fortress big enough to hold all of my minions (It'll have to be really big later on) and set up camp near towns, or whatever, and sell there for a few weeks.

Then, the adventurers can go out and do things while they make us money.

Oh, also.

I Was consider which races to make them. I had a fun idea to make them all one race and look almost identical so I could have a uniform army of sorts. I was thinking Blues or Dromites.

As Pathfinder has raised the bar on Races and LAs, I think Blues and Dromite should get reduced LAs. On the other hand, Dromites get a lot of stuff...

Take over the world! Just think, your PC could be the next main villian! And the best part is, since you're followers are essientially just a class feature, the PC's might not get experience for killing them! It's...genious...I'll need to do this me'thinks.

If your character has evil tendencies, you might want to use them as cannon fodder or trapspringers. As a thrallherd, your number of believers is more or less constant (during a single level) even if you repeatedly get them killed.

Yes, I plan to be an evil overlord. Overlord II has changed my way of thinking substantially.

Run with this. Blues are the master race.
