Almost every one of my friends who flipped through the book recognized it as soon as they saw it. The guy who wrote the section that art appeared in was rather upset when he found out about it, IIRC.

Dear Piazo Community,
I would like to whole-heartedly apologise for use of the images named Merisiel & Seltyiel. This was a serious mistake on my part and I take full responsibility for re-drawing the images based on those characters. I have now removed them from the books.
Once again I apologise to ALL of you guys and the artist and everyone at Piazo.

I can't see it at work, and am not familiar enough with the original to speculate. I assume this was more than the 'Vote for Sherrif Brock' hat tip in Rage Across Appalachia?

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I just wanted to let you all know that we at DriveThruRPG and RPGNow (same company, two different "site faces") take these kinds of issues very seriously. As soon as one of your very astute community members made us aware of the issue, I researched it and moved on it.
If, in the future, you discover such violations in any product, please know that we share your concerns about copyrights and rightful usage of images and intellectual property. We stand with Paizo in the quest to provide excellent quality and value, while protecting the rights of those who create such fantastic products for our mutual entertainment.
Don't hesitate to let us know in the future. As well, let us know other ways we can best serve you, the game-playing public.
Sincerely, and with great affection for my friends at Paizo,
Sean Patrick Fannon
