Howdy, everyone!

I'm currently working on the Pathfinder Paper Mini sets for "The Jackal's Price" and "End of Eternity", and I've veen wracking my brain trying to figure out exactly which minis to make for each set. Then I had a thought: why not ask you, the consumers of the sets, for input on which minis you'd like to see.

So, um, I am. :P

Alright, before I get too far into it, let me preface this by saying that lists of major villains, monsters, and NPCs in the adventures could be construed as a spoiler, so this is a SPOILER WARNING. Also, if you're not familiar with the Pathfinder Paper Minis line, feel free to check them out here. Call me biased, but I think they're pretty cool. :P

So here's the deal: there's way more NPCs and monsters in each of these adventures than I could possibly make in a set, so I need some help picking out which ones people want minis for. So, other than obviously Father Jackal himself, which NPCs and monsters would you like to see? The goal number is about twelve or so, but it can be adjusted slightly depending on demand (I think "House of the Beast" had thirteen, for example).

A quick note: I've been attempting to make "backup" sets for recurring-theme villains (the "Gnolls" set being a good example) to cover the basic mooks and such, so I could, for example, make a "Katapeshi Encounters" set with some of the folks from Part 2: Rayhan's Villa in "The Jackal's Price" (Marzuk, Badra, Kazim, Tamir, nine thugs, Radi Hamdi, and maybe Rayhan himself), which would free up more minis room for the One Source building and the desert encounters stuff. It also could be used for DMs looking to create some Katapeshi encounters (combined with the minis from Immora's "Katapeshi Caravan" and you've pretty much got a Katapesh street scene right there).

Thoughts? Feelings? Tomatoes? Lemme know. Thanks in advance!

*Tosses a tomatoe* Here you go. Making salsa or something?

I don't have immediate access to those modules but I'll make some suggestions when I get my mitts on them at home. The only thing I can think of is to avoid creatures and NPC's that are unlikely to be placed on the battle mat but that's obvious so um... need more tomatoes?

N'wah, is it possible that we could get some "PC" Paper Minis for the PCs.

A set of Rayhan's Villa sounds like a great first step.

From most important to least (In my opinion)

Spoiler for those who do not want to see these names:

Father Jackal

Emkrah (unless you are going to try to do a bestiary as well)

Captain of the Sunset Ship

Khair al Din

Radi Hmadi

Shiz

Emabier

Deathworm

Ettin

Maysam Fajr

the Sahuagin

Last Option: Make two sets. One for the first half and going into Rayhan's Villa, one that covers the last half of the story. Bigger story, more minis. Seems fair and would maybe work on later even bigger chapters to come.

Sovereign Court

I think it's more important to have specific monsters that people might not have minis for already, rather than lots of generic types that are easily represented like thugs or desert raiders.

For NPCs, it's more important to have minis for ones that will actually be in combat, since that's what we mostly use minis for anyways.

So, for The Jackal's Price:

Spoiler:
Monsters:
Death worm
Ettin
Cockatrices
Emabier (eye of the deep)
Emkrah

NPCs:
Radi Hamdi
Tamir
Maysam Fajr
Khair al Din
Rhun-gha
Sunset Ship Captain
Father Jackal

And The End of Eternity:

Spoiler:
Monsters:
Shaitans
Imentesh Protean
Naunet Proteans
Hydra
Golden Ram
Spikestone Guardian
Wyrmskull

NPCs:
Dilix Mahad
Artel Norrin
Zulfiqar (gynosphinx)
Obherak

Agreed.

Paper minis for PCs will be done; currently I'm trying to figure out if it's easier to make "Class" sets or "Race" sets. I'm leaning towards "Race" sets, because I can make generic enough dudes and dudettes of each race to work for pretty much anyone (a Varisian with a dagger could be a rogue, or a wizard or sorcerer, or a knife-weilding fighter, or...), but if demand is for specific classes, I could do that instead.

Mostly just gotta clean off some space on the plate for me and the co-conspirators. Lemme get these sets worked out, and I'll jump into some more "extra" sets ASAP.

Excellent suggestions, gang! And yes, there will be a Bestiary for this one, which will include the first semi-3-D minis for the PPM line. It should be an exciting set!

I'm gonna start working on the current top favorites right now.

Also: I've been trying to reproduce the covers as close as possible, so it looks like you guys will be getting a bonus genie mini with the "Jackal's Price" set as well. Hope that's not a problem. :P

Thanks for the response N'wah. ~sly grin~ How about BOTH a "Race" and a "Class" set? ~I hear a scream of anguish coming from over in the direction of where N'wah lives~ Ok! Ok! Never mind then! ~goes off in a huff~

~GRINS~ What ever you do will be fine with me.

Edit - Don't forget to make both male and female sets! ~I recieve a "Don't try to teach the expert what to do" look from you~

Current plan is as follows: for each "Race" set (which includes all the playable races, including aasimar and tieflings, as well as each human ethnicity) there'll be a set of twelve minis: half male, half female. Each set will be designed with racially-appropriate equipment styles (light slashing weapons for Varisians, bows and swords for elves, scimitars and falchions for Qadirans, axes and crossbows for dwarves, etc.) and will be designed so that any particular mini could conceivably cover multiple classes. For example, a Varisian mini might be wearing a leather jacket (leather armor) and weilding a rapier and have a dagger tucked into its belt, so it could be a lightly-armored fighter, a rogue, or a ranger (two weapons, one not yet drawn), or possibly even a paladin or spellcaster (armor is not completely obvious as such). They'd also work fine as extra NPCs, so if a GM needs a group of dwarves or elves or whatever for an encounter, they've got an appropriate set.

There's been talk of sometime doing a set or two of "outliers": unusual PCs or NPCs who don't fit the cultural norm (Qadirans with full plate, maybe a dwarven whipmaster, Kellid wizard with spellbook, etc.) for those weird characters PCs just love to throw at DMs, but we'll cover the basics that, say, 80% of PCs and GMs will need for a given character/NPC.

I'll get in contact with the rest of the gang and see who wants to do what; I think Immora expressed interest in doing a Varisian set, and I was looking at dwarves, since people seem to think "dwarf" when I ask for set requests. Chelaxians will probably appear sometime during Council of Thieves, since that's fitting. But I'll try to alternate between humans and non-humans whenever possible.

Lemme know if you've got suggestions, requests, or whatever, These bad boys are for all y'all, so we want to provide what people want. If everyone keeps making their Qadirans with greatswords and heavy armor, for example, we'll provide.

Hey, what happened to N'wah?

He seems to be off the boards and the excellent paper-minis line seems to have dried up...

Not that I don't mind the art used for these, but they are more cartoony than what I would usually want.

I've mentioned this before, but I'd love to see paper minis of the stuff on your deviant Art site. They'd make great starting PCs'

Liberty's Edge

I have a big selection of mini's to use for monsters and most of my players have metal or plastic mini's for themselves. I suggest that you stick to odd creatures and things that don't have many mini's already available. That may be a given already, but I can't see myself buying any of these if they are just common creatures that I already have dozens of plastic mini's of.
