To anyone,
Military member, geographically separated from my lifelong gaming group. Surprisingly (?), no one at my location is interested in gaming and I need to give something a beating!
Looking for someone to run a mixed roleplay/rollplay (read as talk nice to NPCs while I hide my gigantic warhammer behind my back and wait for them to look away...) for a dwarven warrior type. I will even buy you the PDF for the Core Rule book and Bestiary.
Do you understand now, just how desperate I am?
I'm giving away digital swag!
Can involve a group, or not, I don't care. Just a decent story with some good fights, run by someone who is more than passingly familiar with the setting (or willing to learn it real fast!)
Please reply,
For every day that no one responds, I'll be forced to play minesweeper (its the only game on my DOD computer). You wouldn't want that to happen would you...?
Thanks.

I might be able to help but a solo adventure in WHFRP is kinda suicidal, don't you agree?
EDIT: Be back in 8 hours after I sleep.
Well Radavel, I think if played right it could be done. Suicidal though it may be, I tend to like the grittiness of the system and have no problem running away when I have to. 'Course, if its a solo game, already being into the first advanced career helps improve the survival rate, but I don't mind playing it solo from the basic on through. Let me know if you're really interested.
Seldriss, I'm kinda burnt on the whole D&D 4E experience and to be honest, I'm a lot more interested in playing WFRP, but if I can't find that, I may submit and play some Pathfinder. Going for broke to start :)

Let's see if there are other people interested in playing.
I would be interested, but the only source book I have is the Tome of Corruption. So I would be limited to playing a Norscan. Will be quite a long time before I pick up the current WHFB books. Been buying all the Dark Heresy...

Let's see if there are other people interested in playing. Since you are playing a dwarf, I'll call you Gotrek. I just need someone to play Felix.
Never read the books, but I still know enough to take that as a compliment. I'll probably play a dwarven shieldbreaker. If we can't get any other players (or even if we only get one...) we could start with better than average equipment (no magic obviously, not that munchkiny...) or we could start into the first advanced career. I'll leave the details up to you, I just need to play. Thanks for taking an interest. I really appreciate it.
Jason.

You have missed some really great novels if you never read them. They have some great lines.
Gotrek(walking through a thick forest): "Trees are like elves, manling. They make me want to take an axe to them."
I'm watching this thread just because I love Fantasy Warhammer's world, but I'm afraid I can't really volunteer for the Felix role since I don't know the rules at all.

We'll just go basic for now. I'll consider every fifty posts on the IC as one session and hand out XP accordingly.
The rules are quite simple.
Also a big fan of the Gotrek and Felix series, waiting for Shamanslayer.
But I do own most of the books, I'm just glad I can finally inflict... er use them on someone.

Norscan, no problem.
EDIT: will go off line; as I go to my office. You may have noticed that I am in a different time zone. Philippines to be exact.

Sounds great, let me know if you have any special rules for character creation, in the meantime I'll just flesh out my character and I can make adjustments as needed.
Balfic-graa, glad to have you along.
Thanks to both of you, my days of minesweeper can come to an end.

Here is what I got so far. Don't have the main rulebook so If someone can give me the results of my rolls.
precentile rolls 36 for fate points.
85 for wounds.
64 for my random talent I start with under the human table.
I didn't roll for the chance of mutation.
Not sure if I am missing anything else.
I took my 1 advance in +1 Attack.

Just need the results of my rolls so I can finish up my character.
Only other question I have is what part of the world are we starting in? I took Speak Lang Norcan, but if we are starting in the Empire I can switch it to Reikspeil so we all can communicate. I can always take Norscan in my second career.
Glad to see a 3rd player. This should be alot of fun.

I plan on setting the game in Karak Azgal (Dragon Crag) so Reikspiel would be a good starting language. Don't worry I will incorporate other stuff from the other books such as Chaos Warriors and my favorite skaven.
Korgidd could be there to recover some long lost family heirloom; while the others could be there for any number of reasons.

Well, I finished up my character and should have my post-alias up as soon as Paizo's servers allow me to (there seems to be some latency going on tonight for me).
I heartily recommend this website's Malleus Character Generator WFRP character generator for anyone yet to make their character yet. Quick and easy.
Well, here is Vulpert in all his smelly, craven glory:
Name: Vulpert Schwartzhahn
Gender: Male
Origin: Empire
Race: Human
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 131 lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue
Age: 33 years
Birthplace: Nuln
Siblings: 1
Starsign: Cackelfax the Cockerel
Description:
Certain philosophers in Altdorf say that there are three indelible facts that can be said to be true about any man. For Vulpert Schwartzhahn, they are these: he is tall, lanky, and smells of a midden-heap. A man who makes a living using his scab-covered hands to pick through the dross of others can rarely be particular in his tastes, and and for this reason, Vulpert is a remorseless opportunist.
Inherently a coward by nature, he carries himself with a false bravado helped along by an intimidating stature that masks his true timidity in much the same way that his over-sized frock coat hides his half-starved physique. Despite his reprehensible grooming and hygiene, he is surprisingly genial and gregarious for a man who is barely a step above a common beggar, and can often talk his way out of situations that would otherwise leave him beaten, robbed, or jailed.
His most dangerous quality however, is an unlikely ability to lead and inspire others coupled with the quixotic belief that somewhere in the next trash-heap, alley, or ruin is the precious discovery that will make Vulpert and those foolish enough to follow his preposterous schemes wealthy and powerful.

Just so we don't lose interest. I'll be posting the IC Thread in a few minutes. Those who have characters ready can simply jump in. Then we'll take it from there.
