We have a ton of ants here. Especially fire ants! Little hills everywhere!
Gah! (shudder) I hate those creepy little things. Ewww. I got bit by a fire ant a few months ago while we were at the playground with Bryce and the bite swelled up to the size of a golfball. Owee. Not to mention, oh gross, icky, get it away from me, eek! I really don't like ants. My husband has occasionally threatened to use formians in game. He actually followed through on it once and was astonished at the level of excessive force that was applied to the situation. :)
Well, let's just say that I'm pretty thankful that the biggest spiders we have here in Denmark are about 2" in diameter with the legs stretched out and all (those are the reeeeealy icky ones). And they aren't even poisonous to humans... Lived in Raleigh, NC for about a year (back in '96) and there were some fairly big spiders once in a while... Not the hand sized or anything, but big enough to be absolutely disgusting... :-)

Oh, god! Those are the worst. One of those crawled into my bathroom once and I just couldn't bring myself to go past it cause it was right there blocking the door. For like an hour. And it was the middle of the night so I couldn't yell for help either.

You can water outside around your house, with this "die-stupid-ants" poison and this should have an effect on the ants... just water at ground level along the, what's it called? the plinth? is... am I making sense?
Anywho, that only works if you have your own freestanding house and all.. I know that this ant-poison is also obtainable in a lacquer-like form that you can 'paint' with around your windows or where ever these bugs come in.
Not that I'm an expert on this subject, but still ;-)

But she is home and doing very well. Even doing a bit of light cleaning today. Baby Lilly is sleeping soundly. She was 8lbs 3.8 oz and 21 inches long. Head full of black hair, and just so cute! She seems to like to stick her tongue out. :D
I can't wait to see her...Think I'll run up later this week!

But I nearly had a heart-attack when it scuttled over the floor, right next to the only exit except the window, which is not an option. Yup! Grabbed me that plunger +1 spiderbane... killed it real good, it did...

I have to say, I am so excited as to how comfortable she seems. Baby fussing and she is already juggling a phone and changing a diaper. So proud! :)

Blech. I seem to have picked up a dry cough that just will not let up. And I have to babysit tonight. I'd call off, but I got it from them in the first place. I put a splash of rum in my coke and hopefully that will soothe it a bit. Traditionally it should be whiskey in tea, but I'm all out of whiskey so I had to improvise. :)
Everyone knows Rum is the superior drink anyway! ;)

My Bathroom encounter with the spider is less dramtic but was freaky none the less.
When I was a bout 16, I was laying down in the shower relaxing with my water pistol, shooting stuff everywhere, when I spy a daddy long legs high in the corner of the ceiling. Now they are only little and not very scary and so I decided to shoot the little bugger with the water pistol. Funny right. That is until I close my eyes fro a minute of two and thn when I open them my vision in my right eye is all blurry. I wonder wht the hell that is, then my vision focuses on the spider that is sitting right over my eye socket, happily in front of my eyeball. I jumped up and smashed the thing off my face into the wall. Not cool :(

Did you know that ALL spiders are toxic, every true arachnid hunts with poison. The vast majority however are harmless to humans as the dose of venom in each bite is so miniscule. You should see the statistics on how many times the average person is bitten during their life. Just thought you might like to know. ;)
