I have not had the chance to run any of the APs yet, but I was wondering how well the setting of the APs themselves (just the small portion of Golarion contained with the AP) is "reusable"?
What I mean to say (and I know a few will disagree with me on this), is that once I ran the original Dragonlance modules, Krynn for me, had nothing more to offer...
Golarion is a big world, with unlimited potential. So I am not worried that I can't find some other place to set a new campaign. I was just wondering, that if I ran say, RotRL, is Sandpoint still interesting?

Using your example, there are plenty of left over threads that have not been used much in Sandpoint.
However, how much an individual DM gets out of all that in a follow up game really depends on the imagination of the DM. Throw on top of those that you would be adding more stuff and you should be good.
However, I would have said the same thing with Krynn. So it really depends on you.
There has consistently been a rumor that a later adventure path will return to Sandpoint as well.

Attempting to avoid spoilers, as the GM for my Crimson Throne campaign, there is plenty still to do and many potentials for Korvosa and the area once the AP is done. The final adventure does give several thoughts on what to do afterward, depending on what the characters do and who or what survives :)

One of Paizo's (many) strong suits is leaving several threads dangling out of the tapestry with which DMs can weave their own stories and adventures. If you look through other books like the PFC Campaign Setting or the Guide to ___ you will be left with many options for exploration and development. The supporting articles after each adventure are excellent breeding grounds for offshoots as well.

I was asking more for starting an entirely NEW campaign set post AP (any AP really)...
I am actually inclined to think that there would be, given the scope of each AP on a whole, but after running DL all those years back and trying to start new campaigns set there was just disappointing...
But having thought about it for a moment, perhaps I just didn't like the setting (DL), but thankfully this is NOT the case with PF... :-)

Oh! Then I would say yes, nothing should prevent you from starting an entirely new campaign with the knowledge of what went before. Thinsg will change, but not so much that the area is unusable in the future. :)

I would say there is a lot more potential in Sandpoint (and other locations the various APs take place). Sandpoint is fully detailed as are many other locations throughout the AP. I could see Sandpoint as a great starting point for any homebrew AP. I believe James Jacobs himself is already using Sandpoint and the haunted house in Part 2 of RotRL for his own homebrew game.
One thing I like about Paizo is how rich they make each location. Even if an area is not used as intended, there is still plenty of material to use.

My thanks for all of the answers to my question... :-)
Here's a new question...
Has anybody run a campaign in any of the areas covered by the APs (aside from Mr. Jacobs and his homebrew)?
I mean either after they have run the AP, or totally ignoring the AP altogether, and just using the info provided about the area?
Thanks...

I'm doing it right now. My group likes PC-centric plots rather than ones the PCs just sort of stumble upon, so the stuff from the Rise of the Runelords AP is only getting used insofar as it directly relates to the goals of the characters. They're still in Sandpoint, Magnimar, Riddleport and other places like the Cinderlands, but I'm not using the AP per se, just the info provided about the areas and some of the ideas as they fit.

I'm running RotRL and we are close to the last chapter. And I've started a separate campaign based in Sandpoint as well. This one is for younger new players, and I thought the mature themes of RotRL may not fit so well. So they are playing students at the Tunderok(sp) Academy. Right now they are exploring the countryside, foiling a goblin riot near Mosswood, and eventually will come up against a dragon's minions with a Thassilonian treasure map.
