How good are your eyes?

General Discussion (Prerelease)

Scarab Sages

So I was looking more in depth at some of the preview pages, like the one here, and noticed the bolded text in the Dwarf entry. Particularly, that only the first two words were bolded in the first line (where the attribute modifiers would be).

Based on the length, they seem to be Constitution and Wisdom. So perhaps PRPG will be going the 4E route with +2 to two ability scores, and no penalty.

Thoughts? Anyone pick anything else out?

Edit: As I mentioned in another thread, I am starting to think a third word may be bolded as well, and it could fit with -2 Charisma. Interesting.

Liberty's Edge

The last three entries would seem to be "Stonecunning," "Weapon Familiarity" and "Languages," none of which are the slightest bit surprising. ;)

Can anyone make out a "Favored Class" entry? That would be telling.

Scarab Sages

Strangely enough, I don't see it. None of the two word bolds really seem to fit, and the one that *might* fit is near the top and has a rather long explanation, more than I would expect a Favored Class entry to have.

Word on the street was that Favored Class is an "Any" choice, with Half-elf getting "Any two". I was hoping not, but we'll see.

Sovereign Court

*laughs uproarously*

I started to laugh at you guys for trying to eeek-out a morsel of knowledge from these pics. Then, I suddenly remembered that this morning I had already magnified the chapter-packs-on-table pic in photoshop (finding myself guilty of the same rediculous obsession).

In many ways, I'm feeling a bit paparazzi-ish right now.

The Exchange

So far the 'accepted' format of presentation for racial traits that we have seen throughout 3E/3.5 has been:
Attributes
Size
Speed
Various Racial Traits
Languages
Favored Class(es)

Comparing the pic side by side with the PfRPG Beta, it seems that they're following the same format still.
And it also appears that the firts entry is three Attributesm then size, speed

Now it does appear that the last three entries are still stone cunning, weapon familiarity and languages. But, unless (as in the PfRPG Beta) the race traits spreads over two pages, there'll be less entries. I do think It'll spread over two pages as I cannot make out favored class(es)

The third word is bolded, I'm fairly damn sure, its fuzzy and less thick looking than the other two, but definately bold.

I seriously don't forsee a big change to the races, if any to be honest. The final rules have been described as such, again and again, that they might be even closer to 3.5 than Beta. Negative ability scores aren't going anywhere.

Silly chickens scratching at the dirt, looking for your tasty worms.

Sit back, relax, play the fun beta, close your eyes, and sooner than you think, you'll wake up and find your shiny new official rulebook under some kind of funny tree in your living room.

Or something like that.

Chickens don't have living rooms...

But Have You Been To Every Chicken's Home (or, did you just drink their beer)?

Don't need to. It's in their definition. If it has a living room, it's no longer a chicken.

On behalf on my fellow chickens;

"WE DEFINE WHAT WE WANT TO BE CALLED, AND FURTHER MORE, WE WILL DRINK BEER IN OUR OWN LIVING ROOMS!!"

I laugh at your poultry attempts of emancipation. You fowl your own nests and want to call them living rooms?

No, we define what we want to call you. If it is McChicken, then you shall be billed as McChicken.
