Maybe I misunderstand the usage of 'tool'. To me, it has always implied someone incapable of standing on their own or simply spouting what is fed them. Ahmadinejad is a wackjob, but I do not think he is a puppet. The fact that he is such a wackjob leads me to believe he is dancing to his own drummer.

Ahmadinejad is a wackjob, but I do not think he is a puppet.
My understanding was that, in reality, he has little to no power of his own, but is subservient to his master the Ayatollah. Ahmadinejad allows the Ayatollah to say crazed shit without actually saying it himself; in that respect, the dude is like a sock puppet -- certainly a tool, unless my assessment is way off (which is quite possible -- I'm no expert).

No, you're right. The Mullahs run Iran, the "Republic" part is a sham, as most parties are disqualified by the Mullahs before elections, for such things as advocating womens rights or being too west-friendly.
Amenjinidad's predecessor, Mohammad Khatami, was basically run out of office for not toeing the company line close enough. He actually believed in reforming Iran's government and being less belligerent. Not a recipe for political longevity in a totalitarian "republic".

I could see that. Then again, I seem to recall the Mullahs telling him to settle down. Again, maybe they were just being sly and making it look like he was not fully under their control.

and what's funny is if you ignore parts of the speach, other parts sound reasonable and if you ignore the tool that he is, and the bs policies his country follows, oh and his desire to redefine the term racism. Man such a sad sad speach, thanks for linking it courtfool and seriously no apologies necessary.

Its requirement or outcome is a return to spiritual and ethical values and human virtues and finally the belief in God.
Any of this sound eerily familiar?
I think he does bring up an interesting point, though. Is it fair that certain countries have veto power?
Fair maybe not, but then again the UN exists primarily because of many of the nations that have veto power.
I would suggest it is better to give the USA a veto vote vs. a situation where the USA is forced to use their real veto power, which is military power, to overturn a UN vote they can't live with.
((I use the USA but the same applies to Russia, China, and the Brits as well, the French ... I have no idea why they have it.))

I specifically did not mention the propriety of the veto votes in an attempt to stir up discussion. The founding nations and, arguably, the most influential nations, are the ones with veto powers. I do not doubt there is very good reason.
However, it does still appear unfair and, debatably, undemocratic.
I do not agree with a lot Ahmadinejad said. It mostly sounded to me, “…blah blah blah, everyone should convert to Islam, blah blah blah, America bad…” I do think he made a valid point that America sticks its nose in a lot of places it probably should not. Right or wrong. As much as we like to preach democracy, America is really more like a benevolent dictator to the rest of the world.
At least in my ignorant, American opinion.

Ahmadinejad is not a tool, but a politician appealing to his constituency - i.e. not a bunch of Americans, but Iranians who hate Israel. That is politics in Iran, and his domestic popularity has been boosted by his speech.
Although, of course, him not being a tool doesn't make him a nice person.
Doesn't make him not a douche bag either.
