According to the image title he is called Fire Guy. Hopefully that won't be what he's called in the final product or I might start to think Paizo's standards were slipping.

Really? I mean. Really? :P

Yup, that's totally Fireguy McDaggerpants, main antagonist of Pathfinder volume X-ty 12, "Fight Stuff Most!"

Or, it's an illustration from Pathfinder Companion: Qadira.

One or the other.

Silver Crusade

Laugh all you want, but I would seriously buy two copies of Pathfinder #24 if it was titled "Punch Genies".

Of course, considering the title of my favorite Dr. McNinja issue...

Seriously, absurd titles make me smile, though they're probably best left for individual articles between the covers.

"I'm a paladin with eighteen charisma and ninety-seven hit points. I can use my Helm of Disintegration and do 1D4 damage as my Half-Elf Mage wields his +5 Holy Avenger."

"Paladins can't use the Helm of Disintegration!"

"Oh? Okay. Then I'm a fire guy."

Spoiler:
Really Lois? No problem with a multi-classing paladin?

His mother told him not to touch himself there, but did he listen?

Nooo...

No, wait, it's both! It's a floor wax and a dessert topping!

(Anyway, the artist got the name wrong. It's Firedude.)

Will Cutsdude, Icedude, Gutsdude, Elecdude, and Bombdude be featured in future APs?

I'm pulling for Wooddude, personally.

Mc Hammer wants his pants back. But feel free to keep his dignity.

They will all be in the upcoming "Fight Man" Adventure Path.

He - along with Airdude, Bubbledude, Crashdude, Flashdude, Heatdude, Metaldude, and Quickdude - will all be appearing in the "Fight Man II" Adventure Path.

Just as we're calling you affectionally 'Balddude' (or 'His Amazing Baldness')? ;P

Please include Sean as an epic NPC there as well! :)

That would be Balddude.

Epic? Really? Have you met Sean? I mean, really, "Commoner 1, Expert 1, Bard 1/2" at Best.

on a more serious note, dudes, i'm bummed by the blog posts. on the one hand, i like 4E, and how wotc forced paizo to develop its own version of the 3.x d20 and golarion (which i like as well).

on the other hand, if wotc had stuck with 3.x, paizo would still be cranking out awesome adventures and articles in dungeons and dragons magazine.

That feels like very wishful thinking to me. Honestly, I'm about 50 trillion times happier doing our own thang rather than playing in someone else's playground, and I know that sentiment is widely shared here. Trust me, happy designers make better games. And more games, just look at how much we're cranking out now in comparison to two years ago!

Nah, you give some drinks and I'm sure Sean transforms into an epic brawler! ;)

Don't be cruel, Wes... balddude should definitely be epic -- and those sunglasses he wears are just too cool! ;P

Which makes happy gamers!

Continues gorging himself on Paizo products.

Me too! I haven't been disappointed at a single Paizo product I've bought so far, and looking at this year's upcoming products I'm more excited than I've been in many, many years! :)

Will either feature a nigh-impossible end game encounter with The-One-Eyed-Rock-Monster-Who-Breaks-Apart-And-Flies-From-One-Side-OF-The-R oom-To-The-Other-Requiring-Memorization-Of-Some-Insane-Jumping-Pattern-To-B eat-Him-Dude?

On a mildly related note "Fight Man 9" is full of awesome old school beats, and actually shares quite a bit of design philosophy with original Tomb of Horrors (and some of those achievement feats, wow, beat a level by only jumping 50 times or less? Fight a boss for 10 minutes?! killer.)

Cutsdude, Icedude, Gutsdude, Elecdude, Bombdude, Wooddude, Airdude, Bubbledude, Crashdude, Flashdude, Heatdude, Metaldude, and Quickdude

gah - why are we going all mega-man bosses?

Er, wasn't that the point? I thought it was intentional.

Bard a half? Does he get to use bardic knowledge half a time a day? Does he get half a knowledge skill?

Fire Guy doesn't sound so bad.

Plus, not everyone will have perfect naming skills. There will be some small-time thug who puts all his points into brawns and making others follow you, and none in thinking of good names. So his name will be silly, but at least Baron Boon o' Beatdown will be a successful thug.

Keep dissin' me and I'll make you warm for the rest of your life, if you know what I mean. And I don't mean teaching you how to make a fire, if that's what you're thinking.
