Is it possible to disable viewing avatars to make this board more SFW?

I haven't seen this but would love it.

In your browser you should be able to disable images loading automatically.

I use firefox and to do so there, go to Tools > Options > Content and uncheck the Load Images Automatically thingy.

Unfortunately I cannot do this, as I use some webapps at work where I need to see the images. I was hoping there might be a profile setting somewhere that I've missed.

You should be able to manually load the images you want to see by right-clicking them if you use the above suggestion.

In Firefox you can specify to exclude paizo.com from auto-loading images.

Should do the trick.

Which avatars do you consider NSFW?

Yes, I haven't seen any, but I'd like to review them if there are any.

I don't think it's about being NSFW, I think it is more about having co-workers or bosses walking by and seeing the graphics that indicate that someone is doing something non-work related. Without the graphics you can be more low-key about your slacking at work.

Yes, talking to goblins is not part of most office-workers' job descriptions.

You have apparently never worked in a IT department.

It's actually on my to-do list, but not terribly high priority.

Oh no! People won't get the full "Mairkurion" effect without my wise leafy visage!

Open Outlook, open Paizo, shrink the box down to the size of the preview pane in Outlook--without Avatars, it looks like email.

Use AdBlock, a Firefox plug-in. It appears that the avatars are all in one directory - http://paizo.com/image/avatar - and you can block any images from that directory displaying.

The Firefox suggestions are great, but unfortunately I am not allowed to install it at work. Something about "security". Ironic, huh?

I'd need something for IE. And the SFW is just as some thought, I'd rather not have images of monsters and such in my window when slacking.

I'd like to be able to view without avatars. That's exactly what I'd like.

With all the security features on my work computer, I'm surprised it doesn't take a special card just to turn it on...oh, wait...

I only have IE7 handy right now to check, but for that one you go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab and then uncheck Show Pictures in the multimedia section.

Our IT department is full of gnomes. The goblins stay in marketing.

I've been called a troll before...mostly because the computers are under the desk, and they need to be fixed sometimes...

I could use the regeneration ability though, that would be keen.

That does this for all pages, I wanted to be more sepcific and just excluded images from paizo.

Just don't leave it unattended or I'll write the general an interesting e-mail from your account. :P
