General Discussion (Prerelease)

I generally avoid buying from Paizo 'cos the prices are higher than most other places online. But the Pathfinder beta rules are outstanding and the forum discussions are very promising. I'll definitely be buying the rulebooks when they come out later this year and will most probably buy the follow-up books as well, if the same excellence level is maintained.

Nice work guys!

The prices are higher than other online stores here because they don't want to damage brick and mortor stores by underselling them, so full MSRP is charged.

But, you can get the prices down by subscribing to the lines you are interested in. Subscribing to any line gives you free access to a pdf copy of the book, which is a huge value! Subscribing specifically to the Pathfinder Adventure Path line gives you the Pathfinder Advantage, a 15% discount on anything else you buy from Paizo.

Oh, and "Gooble gobble gooble gobble! We accept you! One of Us!"

Only problem I see is I've never seen a Pathfinder book in a brick and mortar store.

Well, the final version of the Pathfinder RPG has not been released yet. Once it happens, I think the books will appear even in brick and mortar stores. :)

My local Books-A-Million and Barnes & Noble bookstores both have varied Pathfinder products (the Campaign Setting hardcover, map packs, flip mats, and some adventures).

I've seen Paizo material at my local brick-and-mortar stores as well, but more importantly (to the price argument) is that places such as Amazon carry Paizo material as well. I have gotten quite a few of my Paizo stuffs from Amazon before (Beta ruleset..., campaign setting, and a second/third core rulebook all for ALOT less and free shipping), but there's also the delay... As you can tell I'm a subscriber to the Pathfinder stuff, and never plan on getting rid of it. I get a PDF of the adventure close to a month before stores even see this product, and I absolutely love/want a PDF of all my D&D books as there are advantages to both paper versions and PDF versions!

And those paizo-PDFs are not your run of the mill page-scan PDFs, they are the platinum-multi-objects/sections PDFs, great for a bunch of gaming stuff!
