The Art

Website Feedback

Recently I was helping a friend of mine get inspired for some fantasy artwork he was getting tatooed and of course Paizo came to mind so I whipped out a couple of books and blammo! he askes if there was a website where he could view some of the work and print it out for inspiration. I spent a few days browsing around and other than large thumbnails of cover art there is no 'Gallery' of the awesome artwork we find in our favorite Paizo books. Many other game companies have this (especialy your progenitor) availible and I was wondering if this will ever happen? Cause it would be awesome, Awesome, AWESOME!!! if yall put that together.

Try the Blog, for sample art without the logos and titles, though it's a bit unwieldy to keep scrolling through to older pages.

I'm sure someone put up a more easily scrollable version of the Blog, but I can't remember where it was. Did it get discontinued until the fansite protocol was agreed?

There doesn't seem to be a generic "Art" tag, but it sure would be nice if there was!

Its the only thing WotC has that I like better than what Paizo does.

Having Art Galleries for all their books would be a wonderful resource to print art handouts to show players what that new monster they encounter looks like.

I too would like to see some of the art, as well as the artist who did the picture((to see their other work))

All the artwork that can legally be reused under the Community Use Policy is up at the PathfinderWiki. It's sortable and navigable by a number of criteria, too. Hope that helps!

Huh. I was just thinking of "art for viewing," not reuse. You mean all the art from the blog falls under the Community Use Policy? And it's over at the wiki too?

Helpful, yet unwieldy. Paizo, care to step up?

Try the Paizo blog tags page for finding art. There are tags for monsters and portraits, and each artist has a tag as well. There are also tags for individual monsters like goblins. (There isn't a generic "art" tag because the majority of blog entries have art.)

How could it be organized and be less "unwieldy?" We're always looking to improve the usefulness and efficiency of the wiki, so I'm actually interested in your feedback and/or suggestions.

yoda8myhead: I tried to send a PM but my puter sense isn't working or you can't on these boards.

I noticed it took me a while to find the artWiki from the home area, which means without a specific google or your direct link I would have never found it.

The Art by catergory seems to have mnay broken or random links to artwork. eg When clicking the Art featuring Bugbears it takes me to the cover of Elves of Golarion.

Many of the art links take you to a piece of art where what it links ot may or may not be in the forefront, either zoom in or a brief description as to why it was linked would solve this.

More of the art unlayered would be very nice.

Missing Goblin art, Pathfinder goblins totally kickass this link needs to exist!

The adds make this a slow load page on my slow work connection, and while work was not designed for looking at Paizo art others with slow connections will hate the wiki's load time. But I guess there is not much you can do about the site itself just a gripe really

Also I use the PW a lot and really do appreciate the work you have done and wanted to end this with a job well done, instead of just peeing in your cherrios.

I'll try to address some of your wiki concerns:

A valid concern. We'll talk about the best area to put this on the homepage on the wiki forum.

There is no PM feature on these boards... you can edit his talk page on the wiki though!

The elves in this picture are fighting bugbears, so this is a valid link

The thing about this is that it would show up on the picture's page, and no matter which link you clicked on that directed you to that page... might be possible to add a description that includes this information though... thoughts yoda?

That would be editing the picture, and is not allowed under the community use policy

This is true, and there are at least 2 goblins in the early blog art, plus one cover, meaning 3 pictures open to us.

If you make a wikia account and sign in, the only add that you will see is the one on the front page.

Edit: usingGarys link above.... make that 7+ pictures (depending if you count the ones from Falling)...
