I'm looking to guage interest in a 4E pbp campaign set in Impiltur. It would begin at 1st level with potential to go to 30. Campaign area would be the Demon Lands (Impiltur, Damara, Vaasa, Great Dale, and Narfell).
Sources - PHB, Dragon Magazine, FRCG, FRPG, and Adventurer's vault.
Alignments - no evil.
Regions - Demon Lands and Sea of Fallen Stars
Races - Dwarves, Eladrin, Elves, Half-Elves, Halflings, & Humans

I'm always at least potentially interested in something 4E. Can you tell us more about the hook -- how things kick off?
Also, we're getting lots of shiny new toys in PHB2 in three days . . . options there?
And, please don't take offense, we all start somewhere -- have you GM'd PBP before?
Thanks.
Hook: restore Impiltur to glory. destroy demons, hobgoblins, evil knights, aberations, etc.
PHB2: i won't have a copy for a while so i wouldn't allow anything that hasn't appeared in the previews, i.e. barbarian, druid, invoker, & bard.
Prior experience: dmed a pbp on another site a couple years back. playing in a couple pbps on this site now. Gonna need some helpful hints with mapping battles.

I just want to say that this also includes The Warden, The Shaman, and The Sorcerer

I'd like to see what you have in mind, if there's still a space would you mind if I played a human warlord?
In regards to mapping I've been using paint on the computer or a scanner and perhaps pics I've found on the net and modifying maps via Paint and then using gallery to make copies of them and then clipping them to enlarge the parts needed and then modifying those before saving and adding to photobucket where you can link it straight to the thread for example;
I hope these help.
s's instead of d's my spelling is really dreadful these days!

I'd love to try a 4e game. Sign me up, assuming you still have space. Likely to play a dwarf, some sort of caster...

General Overview
And so it was in the Year of the Purloined Statue (1477 DR) that Impiltur had lost much of her former glory. Life has been hard in the Kingdom of the Sword and Wand. After the Spellplague and the death of the king, the Kingdom has become more insular. The Council of Lords rules in the absence of the king. While the cities have come under the jurisdiction of the local governors, the less populated areas are under the control of petty lords more interested in position than their people.
Not all hope is lost in these times. The Kingdom has always been known for its holy warriors. Many orders of Torm and Ilmater still reside within the Realm. One such order is the Tormian Order of Saint Mauventy. The order is dedicated to fighting demons and other monsters, particularly those that attack children. From the Order’s home near the Earthspur Mountains, the knights ride out to protect the innocents of the Realm from the evils of the world.
The heroes will begin as members of the Order of Saint Mauventy. Not every member of the party is required to be a member of the Order but nonmembers will be employed by the Order. While the Order is sponsored by the Church of Torm, faithful of other good deities are welcome so long as they comport themselves accordingly.
It is also worth noting that there is a capitol offense in Impiltur called consorting with demons; therefore, dark and infernal pact warlocks would be executed if thier power was discovered.

Is this okay?
Haven't worked on the background yet in case there's any other details involved whether it means changing alignment as well.

How did you generate stats? I know I didn't specify but I would prefer using 22 point buy.
Myrmidon Formation isn't in the list of approved sources but I have access to it in the compendium so it's ok.
Good job so far. Work on a backstory.

Since it was not specifically mentioned in your post, I should ask: would it be feasible for me to play a Dwarven Artificer? My other preferred option would be an Invoker.
I'm not going to permit an artificer at this time (I feel that it is a class in need of serious overhall before I would permit it). An invoker would be ok. 22 point buy for stats.

Thank you. I forgot those.

Invoker it is then. Will do tonight, should have ready to go by tomorrow.
How often are you looking to post, by the way? I can generally do daily if necessary, but have a hard time with posting multiple times daily.

Well, I certainly can build a character fast. Two questions: Would you allow the At-Will "Crushing Surge" and the Encounter "Shield Bash"? If you allow Shield Bash, would you allow me to retrain it later?
Shiedl Bash is ok and the retrain rule in the PHB will be in effect.
Crushing Surge is not allowed. I can't find a description for invigorating. I've placed an order for martial power so you can retrain to get it next level.Question: does dwarven weapon prof. give access to superior weapons? seems a bit overpowered when considered next to Eladrin Soldier.
Other than that, looks good. Work up a background when you get a chance. We'll probably start tomorrow or the next day.

As far as I can tell, it does give the Superior proficiencies too. Of course, Eladrin Soldier probably gives access to the Superior spears too.
Also, if you want, the Invigorating keyword:

Used the 4e beta mentioned on en world, that had the myrmidon power looking at as much healing based powers as possible.
And as for back story that still needs bit of work.
