Would love the folks at Pazio to make a twitter account for the company. I get the email, but would love to be able to hear things on a daily basis from someone from Paizo. (be it updates, asking fans questions, talking about roleplaying, etc)

Twitter is a great way to market the company. It has grown leaps in bounds since this service has gone live. A lot of companies of all sizes use it to promote. I hope maybe someone at Paizo will consider my idea. It's good for PR and good for your customers.

Sincerely,

Darin Smith

I don't know who, but someone has already registered a Paizo account on twitter. It's been said that Paizo has no knowledge of this.

It would be great if they would make an offical twitter account or at least confirm that account is theirs. Would be a great way to promote their company especially since Pathfinder will be released this year at GenCon.

I agree.

Really you guys? Nobody else tweets around here? C'mon ALL the geeks are doin it!

I don't think anyone at the company uses this. We are only just discovering Facebook. :)

Hmm discover new ways to market your goods, or just make better stuff.. Tell you what Erik worry about twitter latter keep up the good work. Beside which you guys give us weekly updates from the chat room.

Facebook is no different then MySpace.. big yuck.

Twitter... oye.. I can just imagine the messages we'd see on there. Imagine SKR sending out a twitter that a nerf assault was imminent and then not know who survived... yikes!

The Exchange

actually just a daily 3 second update saying this is the book I am working on right now. That would be cool but yes hearing about Jason Buhlman's next exciting drinking game.

Perhaps I'm just showing my age, but I really don't get all the buzz about Twitter. Is it really necessary to be that exposed to the outside world? I find the take on Twitter that the Doonesbury comic strip is doing to be quite entertaining, but overall I don't see the appeal.

Liberty's Edge

My take: from the surface, random Twitter updates can look shockingly stupid, but once you start to find your people, it's great--many of the well known RPG designers, authors, and gamer bloggers ... even geek celebs throw out quick updates, ask questions ... Ultimately it's like anything really--once you make it interesting to you, its value increases quite a bit. That said, I think it's way more useful as a community tool over a marketing tool--but clearly Paizo has a pretty engaged community that might have some fun with it ... hope to see you all pop in with an update every now and then ;-)

Nope.

Waste of time. I spend enough on message boards. I've read several of these and not one of them did I feel have any meaningful impact on my life outside of novelty.

Twitter is a great marketing tool. Twitter has grown so much in just a small amount of time should tell ya how useful it can be. A lot of gaming companies, writers, etc are using it to just give short updates to their fans. It also allows you to be a bit more personal with your fanbase. Twitter is the wave of the future. Pazio should jump onboard!

Wow, Darin - you're pimping Twitter everywhere! How much are they paying you?

just kidding...

I agree. You can quickly drop stuff here for anyone here to read and respond to.

You guys SUCK!

I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to follow the minutiae of my friends boring lives. No desire for such a pointless account.

And now Paizo makes a witter account... must resist urge to follow... there is a cliff... must resist... oh what the heck... maybe the herd will miss the cliff this time...

Now I don't want to miss anything. :p

Hate this thing but hmmm 7 flurries you say? Nice! I wonder if there is a greater chance of Paizo letting stuff like this slip thanks to twitter...

I guess I'm not a true fangirl. I just find Twitter so (to put it politely) unprofessional :(

Don't forget every friday is followfriday on twitter. It's a chance to show other friends what twitter accounts you enjoy the most and think your followers should check out. Just make a post like this:

#followfriday @paizo

You can include whatever other accounts you think worthy of others checking out, but try and spread the word of Paizo on twitter!

It's easy - delete "Tiger Dave" and insert "Halle Berry". See? You still may not get a very clear mental image of the golems, but in this case it's perfectly acceptable ...

I'm with a lot of you guys. I am very militant anti-facebook/myspace and all that. I tended to roll my eyes at twitter and such, but getting any updates from you as they happen and little hints on the classes and book covers and all that is very cool. Your accessibility on the forums has always been a huge boon, so this is a neat step.

Heh. Mine is more along the lines of a petulant child while he shuffles off to create an account ... I'm still fighting the compulsion, but my resolve is weakening

Silver Crusade

Here's the thing, though. You can follow who you want to and block who you don't. Or just use it to follow Paizo. Pretty simple and easy. I tend to block 10 or so people a day. I don't like spammers. Otherwise, I'd probably have like 500 people following me by now. I tend to keep it low and with people I know or really like.

The easiest, least intrusive Twitter strategery seems, to me, to be to load it into a phone app and look at it on the go. Pretty easy and useful in this regard.
